Chapter 364

The restaurant was nearly empty; it was more than half an hour before dinner service. Skylar and Natalie chose seats in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows to watch the sunset.

After ordering, they chatted, the conversation turning to Austin's Instagram.

โ€œIt's said that fans who get too close to their idols often become disillusioned. But whenever I look at Austin's private Instagram, I feel like he's being his true self. I like him even more! It's wonderful that I can see how he works!โ€

Skylar looked at Natalie, who was in high spirits as long as Jeremy wasn't mentioned. She never thought a wealthy woman like Natalie would be a celebrity assistant.

If Jeremy had done something unforgivable, it would be his loss. But Skylar hoped he was simply too busy to spend time with Natalie.

โ€œI can tell he added you as a friend without pretense, since he lets you see his Instagram,โ€ Skylar said. โ€œHeโ€™s worthy of being your idol.โ€

Natalie chuckled, then clutched her stomach. โ€œI feel like I have an appetite after seeing you today. I'm starving! Is the food we ordered enough?โ€

She worried; she could eat a lot when hungry.

โ€œLet's go to the barbecue restaurant near our college afterward,โ€ Skylar suggested.

โ€œI agree!โ€ Natalie replied instantly.

Meanwhile, three cars pulled up outside the restaurant simultaneously. Joe emerged first, followed by Jeremy and John. All three happened to be free that day and had gathered at Jeremy's restaurant, the best in Jipsburg.

"How long has it been since we last got together?" John asked.

As children, they'd had little time to play; their days were filled with studying. They'd had almost no childhood. As adults, their busy social lives and careers left them little time to relax together.

"Probably more than a year," Jeremy recalled.

Natalie's image suddenly sprang to mind. How long had it been since he'd properly gone home and talked to her?

Joe paused abruptly as he was about to enter.

"What's wrong?" John asked, puzzled.

Joe had noticed a new electric vehicle parked nearby, standing out among the luxury cars.

"What are you looking at?" John followed Joe's gaze. He smiled. "That car sells well. It's energy-efficient and environmentally friendly."

The car seemed out of place.

Joe looked away. "Let's go in."

Noticing Jeremy's distraction, John asked, "Jeremy, are you thinking about your secretary again?"

Their circle held few secrets; everyone knew about Jeremy and Annabelle. But they also knew Jeremy was married to his childhood sweetheart, Natalie. In the past, he had doted on her, but he'd recently developed an ambiguous relationship with his secretary.
