"I don't need you poking into my affairs or speculating about Skylar. She's not the type of woman you think she is. I'm leaving if you don't need anything else," Joe said, turning to leave.

As Joe reached the door, Rowan finally reacted. "You're really married?" he exclaimed.

Joe glanced back, his expression confirming he wasn't joking. After the door closed, Rowan called Jenny.

"Joe is already married. Can you believe it?" Rowan asked. "Can you think of me now?"

Jenny took a deep breath. "So even you know he's married. Is he making Skylar's existence known to everyone?"

Rowan felt a pang of pain and jealousy at Jenny's despondent tone. "Yeah, he told me. I've met Skylar, but I didn't know they were secretly married," he admitted.

Jenny was silent for several seconds. "Do you think he likes her?" she finally asked.

Rowan hesitated. "He seems to care a lot about Skylar," he replied, adding, "But I have no idea if he loves her." He'd asked Joe directly earlier, but hadn't received a straight answer. Joe had simply stated he was married and not getting a divorced, suggesting he was content with Skylar.

Jenny fell silent again. "In another month, I'll finish my studies and return to Jipsburg."

Rowan's spirits lifted. "Let me know when you're coming back. I'll pick you up at the airport!"

"Okay," Jenny replied faintly.

Maisy had no choice but to return to the Williams family home. The house was eerily quiet; even the household staff moved with hushed steps. Samuel's work had virtually ceased since the hospital incident, confining him to the house. Peter and his father had gone to the company. Maisy learned from Peter that they were desperately trying to salvage the situation, but the company was teetering on the brink of collapse. Kenny was also at home, only returning to work the next day. Everyone seemed to be isolating themselves in their rooms. Sadie was likely resting alone in hers.

Maisy passed Sadie's room on her way to her own, pausing briefly before continuing. She didn't want to cause any trouble.

She quietly entered her room to find Kenny waiting. "Where did you go?" he asked.

"I went to see Janine," Maisy lied smoothly, "hoping she might help convince Skylar to return. But I don't know what Skylar told her; Janine was very firm."

Kenny, having not seen Maisy earlier, had feared she might leave, following Skylar's example. He'd been overthinking it; Maisy wasn't that heartless.

He stood, walked to Maisy, and hugged her. Impulsively, he kissed her. Maisy responded eagerly.

Lost in a passionate kiss, they were unaware the door wasn't fully closed. Samuel, having come to check if Maisy had returned, was shocked by the scene unfolding before him.

"Kenny, Maisy… you two…" he stammered, flabbergasted. Kenny and Maisy were siblings.
