Chapter 78
โI wonโt let go, Skye. I love you! Weโve known each other for over seven years. Havenโt we been good to each other all these years? No one knows me better than you, and I know you well, too. Skye, letโs get married. Once weโre married, you can test me as much as you want. I really havenโt done anything wrong to you.โ Christopher tightened his grip.
He couldnโt afford to lose Skylar. She was the only one who genuinely cared for him, and through her, he might become the son-in-law of the Williams family.
Skylar pursed her lips, repulsed by Christopherโs touch. Her gaze darkened. She kicked Christopher and swiftly flipped him over her shoulder, sending him crashing to the ground with a loud thud.
Christopher lay there, seeing stars. โSkyeโโ
Skylar looked down at the disheveled Christopher with a calm, dashing demeanor.
โChristopher, youโve been lying to me for over seven years. Did you really think Iโd keep falling for your tricks? Those photos you posted on Instagram were the same ones I caught you taking with Maisy. You disgust me.โ
โHโHowโโ Christopher was still dazed. How had Skylar managed to flip him like that? For a moment, he felt powerless; then, he was on the ground. As he tried to get up, he found himself lacking the strength.
Christopher persisted, attempting to deceive Skylar. โIโve told you itโs all fake. What you saw was Amy. She seduced me. How could youโโ
Skylar took a glove from her bag and shoved it into Christopherโs mouth. โSave your excuses.โ
Seeing the infuriated Christopher, Skylar remained expressionless. Seven years of memories, along with the brutal experiences of her past life, had turned into intense resentment. She turned away and got into her car.
Finally finding some strength, Christopher struggled to his feet and removed the glove from his mouth. โSkylar, do you even know what youโre doing?โ He banged on the car window, urging her to roll it down.
Skylar put on her sunglasses, ignoring Christopher. She felt nothing but disgust toward him. The lingering pain in her heart no longer affected her emotions.
Christopherโs handsome face twisted with frustration as he pounded on the car window. He even tried to open the door. However, Skylar had already locked it, rendering his efforts futile. The door wouldnโt budge, and the window wouldnโt shatter.
Skylar had seen Christopher in various states, but his current desperate expression was rare. She raised her middle finger at him, hit the gas pedal, and the car shot forward.
Caught off guard, Christopher nearly fell to the ground. As he watched the car speed away, he trembled with fury and roared, โSkylar! How dare you!โ
An hour later, Skylar arrived at Galaxy Villa. Upon entering, she noticed the villa was shrouded in darkness. Even after turning on the lights, it remained dim.
โPower outage?โ She shone her phoneโs flashlight around. Suddenly, the door behind her swung open. In the pitch-black environment, Skylar jumped in fright. โWhoโs there?โ
Hearing her voice, Joe turned toward Skylar. Her phoneโs flashlight cast an eerie, sinister glow on his face. Coupled with her earlier scream, it created an ominous atmosphere.
โItโs me. Why didnโt you turn on the lights?โ Joe asked.
โIt seems thereโs a power outage.โ Skylarโs heart was still pounding from the scare. Even so, she felt a bit more relieved upon hearing Joeโs familiar voice. She looked at Joe standing before her.
