Chapter 871

Simona asked Skylar, “Can you take me to Wendy? She’s having a much harder time than I am. I’ve calmed down, and my brother will see justice is done. I’m no longer afraid. But Wendy’s family isn’t supportive, and I need to see her. I won’t sleep otherwise.”

Skylar, her eyes red and swollen, her body bruised, looked at Simona. After a moment, she nodded. “Alright, I’ll take you.”

As they left the ward, Joe, sitting across from them, stood. “We’re just going for a walk; we won’t leave the hospital,” Skylar assured him. Joe nodded, thinking, “Those girls’ lives are ruined.”

Simona had tried reasoning with her attackers, but to no avail. Desperate, she called Aiken. Several classmates saw her on the phone and threw it away, but Aiken had already answered. Knowing her location, he called the police and rushed to her rescue. They found Wendy and brought them both to Apollo Hospital.

Exiting the elevator, they heard a heated argument.

“This is embarrassing! We were planning a five-million-dollar marriage for her after graduation. But look at this! We spent so much on her education, and she seduced several classmates!” Valencia Litt fumed, pounding her thigh.

“Mom, Dad, you said I’d get five million after graduation! Who’ll pay that now? I feel like killing her myself!” Keith Specter raged.

“That shameless girl! When she wakes up, I’ll beat her!” Jimmy Specter added.

“This is all because you didn’t let her marry Mr. Snyder! He’d have easily paid the five million. You listened to her about college, thinking for a bigger payout. She just deceived you all!” Keith exclaimed.

Valencia said, “And this hospital? It’s the most expensive in Jipsburg!”

Jimmy agreed. “I’m having her discharged. She’s disgraced us; what’s the point of this expense?”

Their argument was rife with self-interest, devoid of concern for Wendy’s well-being. To them, she was merely a commodity.

Skylar thought of the Williams family and their similar selfishness. Simona, her eyes burning with anger, moved slowly due to her injuries. She pointed at the three and shouted, “Are you even human? She’s suffering, and you blame her! Go after the people who hurt her!”

Stunned, they quickly recognized Simona. Valencia spat, “So, you’re the other girl who seduced the boys? Who gave you the right to call the police? Did you corrupt Wendy? You’re both disgusting!”

Simona trembled. Keith said coldly, “At your age, used by several guys… and you criticize us? Wendy’s defiance clearly comes from you.” Though he found her prettier than his sister, he mused he wouldn't mind marrying her, even considering her past.
