Chapter 918
Christopher ended the call and approached the bed, swiftly undressing, his gaze fixed on Skylar. “We’ve been together for years, and I’ve always respected you, never once touching you. But you let Joe have you. You owe me that much.” The thought of Skylar with Joe fueled his uncontrollable jealousy.
Skylar, having overheard his entire conversation, committed every word to memory. As he undressed, nausea washed over her, but weakness prevented effective action. When Christopher climbed onto the bed, she mustered her remaining strength and rolled to the floor.
“Christopher, if you dare touch me, I’ll make sure you regret it,” Skylar hissed, biting her lip.
Christopher froze, shocked by her consciousness. “You’re awake?” Seeing her remain on the floor, he realized the drug hadn't fully taken effect. He had obtained it through illicit channels; it was designed to render someone unconscious for hours, leaving them vulnerable.
“It’s good you’ve regained consciousness. Such things should be done when you’re fully aware. Skylar, this is what you owe me. I’ve wanted intimacy with you for years, but you always rejected me. If you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been seduced by Maisy.” His gaze remained locked on Skylar as he spouted his twisted justifications.
Skylar’s face was pale, slick with sweat. The brief exertion had drained her. “If you dare touch me, I’ll kill you with my own hands.” She bit her lip until it bled, the metallic taste sharpening her senses. Her fists clenched, her mind racing. She was in a small apartment—a temporary rental, likely arranged by Christopher upon his arrival in Jipsburg. He had meticulously planned this abduction.
Christopher’s initial shock morphed into crazed laughter. “Do you even know where you are? This place is empty during the day. Scream all you want—no one will hear. And after we… have sex… do you think you’ll still want to kill me? After all these years, I know you better than that.” He feared wasting time, wary of stalling tactics and Joe’s capabilities. Having bound Skylar, he felt compelled to proceed.
“I’ve watched the Williams family fall. Do you think I’ll let you get away with this?” Skylar’s voice was glacial.
His smirk faltered at the mention of the Williams family, their downfall even more catastrophic than his own. Still… “It’s quite a coincidence. We’re clearly meant for each other. Do you know why Maisy was sold? Because she plotted against me. She’s been manipulating me, ruining my relationship with you, so I got my revenge by selling her and Kenny. We’re both vengeful. Don’t you see? We belong together,” Christopher said, crouching closer.
He continued, “Don’t threaten me. You won’t have the strength to resist for the next few hours. Just cooperate, and I’ll be gentle.”
Skylar’s face paled further, sweat soaking her clothes. As he reached for her, her eyes fell on a dropped pen. With a swift move, she stabbed him with it.
“Ah! You!” Christopher cried, stumbling back.
