Chapter 126
โIf she ever needs help with her studies, Yannis can tutor her.โ
Raymond listed all these advantages, trying to persuade Henry and others to agree to Zinnia living with Yannis.
Yvette and the others were equally astonished that Zinnia could treat Yannisโs insomnia.
Henry asked gently, โZinnia, would you be willing to stay with Yannis? Only if you want to.โ
The Lynns were genuinely surprised that Zinnia could help with Yannisโs insomnia. They knew just how much Raymond worried about Yannis. Whether out of friendship or simply because they cared for Yannis, the Lynns didnโt want anything bad to happen to Yannis.
But the Lynns felt it all depended on whether Zinnia was willing to stay with Yannis. With Yannis around, the Lynns felt reassured.
Yannis had no ties to the Shaw family, so the Lynns believed that the Shaws wouldnโt dare make trouble in front of Yannis.
No matter how vicious the rumors about Yannis were in their circle, calling him arrogant, sharp-tongued, even ruthless, in the eyes of the Lynns, Yannis was nothing but dependable.
Zinnia met Yannisโs eyes, recalling how heโd recently said he might collapse at home one day and no one would even notice. She bit her lip.
She thought, โI donโt know when Iโll have to leave. Before that happens, I should help nurse him back to health. If I can get him better, maybe he wonโt be in such danger anymore.โ The next second, she nodded.
Seeing Zinnia agree, a gentle warmth flickered in Yannisโs eyes.
Watching Yannisโs eyes brimming with laughter, Zinnia felt herself being infected by his cheerful mood and found herself feeling a bit excited as well.
Seeing that it was getting late, Sofia and the others prepared to leave. Her gaze lingered on Zinnia for a moment before finally turning to Yannis. โYannis, weโll entrust Zinnia to your care,โ Sofia said gently.
โSofia, youโre welcome to visit Zinnia anytime,โ Yannis said.
Sofia gave Zinniaโs hand another gentle squeeze and said, โZinnia, if you ever need anything, just call us anytime, okay?โ
โAlright, Sofia. You take care too,โ Zinnia said, smiling gently as she met Sofiaโs reluctant gaze.
โZinnia, if anything happens, just call me and Iโll come get you,โ Maisie said before leaving. She wished she could take Zinnia home, but since Zinnia chose to stay with Yannis, Maisie could only say goodbye, her reluctance clear.
โOkay,โ Zinnia replied.
With Zinnia now officially entrusted to Yannisโs care, the matter was temporarily settled.
Zinnia glanced at Yannis, who was bent over tidying up the table. Now that it was just the two of them in the living room, she finally asked, โWhy did you ask me to stay? Jackson said you donโt like being disturbed by others.โ
Yannis paused briefly before saying, โZinnia, youโre not a bother at all. Youโre helping me get better, and Iโll provide room and board. Honestly, if you left thereโd be no one to eat my cooking. Food just doesnโt taste the same when Iโm eating alone.โ
Yannis was not one to tolerate disturbances. But he found himself not minding having Zinnia around. He couldnโt quite explain why he made this decision. Maybe it was just a spur of the moment choice, but he didnโt regret it one bit.
Yannis thought to himself, maybe the house just feels too empty. I donโt want to come home every day and never see her petite figure again.
Zinnia said, โIโll nurse your body back to health as soon as possible.โ She thought, โOnce he is better, if Master still hasnโt come for me, Iโll move out. This is just a temporary arrangement. I wonโt overstay my welcome.โ
Yannis replied, โNo rush. I will show you to your room. If you need anything, just let me know.โ
Since Zinnia had already packed her things, she didnโt have to go downstairs again. Yannis grabbed her suitcase and led her to the guest room.
Yannis said, โZinnia, your room is right here. Youโll have to make do for now. Tomorrow Iโll have someone redecorate it to your liking and have your clothes delivered.โ
Though it was just a guest room with simple decor, everything was of the finest quality. After all, Yannis demanded nothing but the best. Yet Yannis felt it was too plain for Zinnia to live in.
Yannis pondered, โThe color scheme is too monotonous. I will have it redecorated tomorrow; after all, a young girlโs room shouldnโt feel so cold and unwelcoming.โ
