Caden halted abruptly, subtly signaling Hank, who immediately followed Dorian to the elevator. Hank obediently pressed the button and waited.
After Dorian left, Alice gathered her belongings, announcing, โIโm going to the gallery. If I donโt leave now, Iโll be working late.โ Caden nodded. Moments before, her desire had burned brightly; Dorian's presence had extinguished it. She no longer wished to continue their intimacy.

Alice nodded. โI can go alone.โ
Caden rose, picked up the phone, and dialed. โHave you heard from that doctor?โ he asked.

Dorian, surprised by her composure, asked, โMiss Bennett, you donโt work here. Why are you here?โ
โIโve worked with Caden. I stopped by to see some new items.โ She presented her business card. โAre you interested in art, Mr. Moss?โ
