Chapter 302

Tears welled in Alicia's eyes as she bowed her head. "That's my problem. What does it have to do with you?"

He scoffed. "Do you think you can handle him? Dorian could shut down your gallery with a single command, making it difficult to remain in Warrington. Are you prepared for that risk?"

Alicia's gaze grew somber. Secretly clenching her fists, she felt the weight of the situation. Watching her breathe heavily, Caden's heart softened. He drew her into his embrace.

As Alicia squirmed, pain shot through her lower body, and a dizzy spell hit her—likely from the suppressed fury that felt like it was consuming her. Forced to sit on his lap, she inhaled his scent, and sorrow washed over her, her eyes brimming with tears.

"Caden, are you siding with Yolanda?" she asked, her voice soft but laced with hurt.

Seeing her tears, Caden's tone softened. "Calm down. I'll support you. There's no need to apologize. I'll handle the Moss family."

Alicia chuckled bitterly, her voice strained. "Caden, you're utterly heartless." He had the power to persuade the Moss family, yet he chose to pressure her. She realized she was merely a means to satisfy his desires, his influence a tool to force her compliance.

A rueful smile touched her lips. "Cade has been part of our lives for months, yet you show no concern for him. Am I just another pet to you? How long will your interest last?"

Caden caressed her cheek. "You're too headstrong, Alicia. To win my heart, you need to please me and prove your worth."

Alicia brushed his hand away. Rising, she conceded, "I'll go and make amends with Yolanda." She was a savvy businesswoman; apologizing was the simplest way to avoid conflict. She wouldn't jeopardize her hard work and future over a fleeting impulse.

After grabbing her car keys, she left without a second thought. Caden remained silent, his expression thoughtful, lost in contemplation.

Dorian was surprised to see Alicia arrive. His anger had subsided; he had no intention of harming a defenseless woman. "Yolanda is in the bedroom. You can go see her," he said, settling into a chair.

Alicia didn't respond, walking past him. Dorian blinked in disbelief. How rude!
