Chapter 464:

For now, Yolanda needed to stick to her plan: manipulating Corey to crush Caden, forcing Caden to recognize her value.

“You seem busy, Mr. Hampton,” Caden remarked, “I won’t interrupt your romantic time together.” He turned and left. Fortunately, he was immediately engaged in conversation with an acquaintance.

Yolanda’s eyes filled with tears as she watched him go. Corey observed her.

“If you’re regretting this, tell Caden the truth. Expose and embarrass me,” he challenged.

“Regret what?” Yolanda rasped, swallowing her resentment. “If he’s angry, we’re off to a good start.” She believed Corey’s success would pressure Caden to release a new product, a task he couldn't accomplish without her unique skills. She was certain Caden would soon return, begging for her help. Patience was all she needed.

She scanned the banquet hall. “Where’s Alicia?”

“I invited her, but she refused,” Corey explained.

“Why invite her?” Yolanda snapped. “Is she even worthy?”

A spark of amusement flickered in Corey’s eyes. “She tossed the invitation in the trash, right in front of my subordinate. Caden’s woman is quite a beauty, with a fiery spirit.”

Yolanda bristled at his smile. They were all lecherous scoundrels. How long could Alicia's beauty last? Once she turned twenty-eight, her value would plummet.

“Women who rely on looks are short-sighted,” Yolanda scoffed. “Only talent secures one's place. I can’t wait to see that bitch fall.”

Corey’s smile turned mocking as he glanced at her.

Caden was surprised to see Dorian and Regina. They’d used the press conference as an opportunity to speak with him. Dorian’s anger remained, so Regina addressed Caden.

“The chip ended up with Corey. Yolanda admitted giving it to him. Apparently, Corey persuaded her with promises of doing something great for the family.”

“I don’t need explanations,” Caden replied calmly. “I gave Dorian the chip. He can handle it.”

Shame flickered across Regina’s face. “I don’t know what to do with Yolanda. She acts without thinking. Corey has a criminal record, and she partnered with him on such a risky project!”

Caden’s eyes narrowed. “What kind of record?”

Regina, sensing his interest, revealed, “Before he became known, he served five months in Terriland for underground dealings.”
