Chapter 553:
The chip had come from Yolanda, who had also suffered under Caden. Could she be collaborating with him?
โThere is a solution,โ Corey said through clenched teeth, โbut we need to find Alicia.โ
โWhat if we pay her to help us?โ the secretary suggested.
Corey felt a surge of anger. โSheโs with Caden!โ
The secretary fell silent, remaining quiet as Corey seethed. The silence was broken by a knock. A hesitant individual entered, glancing nervously at Corey.
โIf you have something to say, just say it!โ the impatient secretary urged.
The person remained silent. Coreyโs brows furrowed. โAre you looking for trouble?โ
After a moment, the person spoke. โMr. Hamptonโฆ Mr. Wardโs assistant just called. Theyโve invited you to dinner tonight.โ
Corey was surprised. Dinner? With their rivalry? This was likely an opportunity for Caden to gloat or mock him. The secretary, sensing the underlying challenge, shivered.
Realizing anger wouldn't help, Corey dismissed everyone to think alone. He needed a solution. But shortly after, his phone rang. He knew it was Caden. He should ignore it, but refusing might appear weak. As the phone neared the end of its ring, he answered.
Cadenโs smooth voice greeted him. โMr. Hampton, are you free?โ
A headache formed. He wanted to confront Caden. โCongratulations, Mr. Ward,โ Corey said stiffly. โAnother success.โ
Caden replied casually, โSignificant profits are almost routine now. The numbers keep increasing, but theyโre just digits on a screen.โ
Corey lost interest. Competing with Caden was as challenging as he feared. โYou didnโt call just to brag, did you?โ
Cadenโs tone remained casual. โI know youโre struggling with your robot issues. If you really canโt find a solution, I might be able to help.โ
โWould you involve Alicia in this?โ Corey asked.
