Chapter 553:
The chip had come from Yolanda, who had also suffered under Caden. Could she be collaborating with him?
“There is a solution,” Corey said through clenched teeth, “but we need to find Alicia.”
“What if we pay her to help us?” the secretary suggested.
Corey felt a surge of anger. “She’s with Caden!”
The secretary fell silent, remaining quiet as Corey seethed. The silence was broken by a knock. A hesitant individual entered, glancing nervously at Corey.
“If you have something to say, just say it!” the impatient secretary urged.
The person remained silent. Corey’s brows furrowed. “Are you looking for trouble?”
After a moment, the person spoke. “Mr. Hampton… Mr. Ward’s assistant just called. They’ve invited you to dinner tonight.”
Corey was surprised. Dinner? With their rivalry? This was likely an opportunity for Caden to gloat or mock him. The secretary, sensing the underlying challenge, shivered.
Realizing anger wouldn't help, Corey dismissed everyone to think alone. He needed a solution. But shortly after, his phone rang. He knew it was Caden. He should ignore it, but refusing might appear weak. As the phone neared the end of its ring, he answered.
Caden’s smooth voice greeted him. “Mr. Hampton, are you free?”
A headache formed. He wanted to confront Caden. “Congratulations, Mr. Ward,” Corey said stiffly. “Another success.”
Caden replied casually, “Significant profits are almost routine now. The numbers keep increasing, but they’re just digits on a screen.”
Corey lost interest. Competing with Caden was as challenging as he feared. “You didn’t call just to brag, did you?”
Caden’s tone remained casual. “I know you’re struggling with your robot issues. If you really can’t find a solution, I might be able to help.”
“Would you involve Alicia in this?” Corey asked.
