Chapter 605:
Caden's expression was stern. "It's been a while since I visited your family. I thought I'd drop by."
Gerry eyed him skeptically, unsure of his intentions. He had no reason to refuse, but his sleek sports car only had two seats. "Maybe another day..." Gerry began, but Caden interrupted.
"We'll take my car. Driving that flashy sports car will only anger your father. He might even throw you and the car out of the country."
Gerry considered this, then nodded. After parking, he saw Alicia and Caden in the back seat, a dog nestled between them. He frowned. "You want me to drive?"
Caden smirked. "Or what?"
Gerry protested, "Do you really expect someone of my status to drive? Isn't that inappropriate?"
Caden raised an eyebrow. "Drive, and I guarantee you won't face any physical punishment today."
Gerry's expression changed instantly. He climbed into the car with renewed resolve. "Being a driver now and then isn't so bad. A new experience."
In the back, Alicia and Caden exchanged a cold glance. Alicia broke the silence. "Aren't you supposed to stay home?"
Caden, equally impassive, replied, "Didn't you say you were bringing Cade?"
Alicia's lips twitched. Gently stroking the border collie beside her, she asked, "Are you Cade?"
"Of course," Caden replied mischievously.
Alicia, though accustomed to Caden's shamelessness, hadn't anticipated this audacity, especially with Gerry present. She sighed and looked out the window. Caden's hand reached over the dog and intertwined with hers. She wasn't angry; she let him hold her hand, though she instinctively glanced at Gerry, who was focused on driving.
Later, Caden grew restless. The dog seemed to take up too much space, so he moved it to the front passenger seat.
