Chapter 610: I made a small business deal with Mr. Hopkins. He's in a good mood, so he won't hold Gerry's filming incident against him for now. It was fortunate that the online buzz surrounding the incident had died down; no one would dare stir up more trouble.
Alicia didn't ask about the deal, but she suspected Caden wouldn't profit much, if at all. "How much are you going to lose?" she whispered conspiratorially.
Caden mentally calculated. "Almost ten million."
Alicia's eyes widened, but recalling Caden's immense wealth, she swallowed her shock. "Well... spare change to you, I suppose," she said.
Caden chuckled, unfazed. Alicia tugged at his pinky finger. "Did Gerry save your life or something? Is that why you're so good to him?"
Caden smirked. "Heartless, am I helping him?" Alicia was momentarily stunned.
Caden glanced at the garden, changing the subject. "What were you doing out there?"
Alicia laughed. "Watching Cade embarrass himself. That poor greenhorn," she lowered her voice, "caught the scent of a female dog. He kept sniffing the area until he almost passed out."
Caden was speechless. Alicia leaned closer. "He's exactly like how you get sometimes."
Caden gritted his teeth and glared at her. As they passed the kitchen, he pulled her into an alcove. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her.
"Since you've basically compared me to a dog in heat, does that mean you're giving me a pass to relieve myself as often as I need to?" Caden's proximity was intoxicating, stirring something deep within Alicia. She felt her body heat up.
Glancing around nervously, she whispered, "This is the Hopkins family's house. Mind your words!"
Ever shameless, Caden pressed a kiss to her cheek, his hands playfully roving over her body. He chuckled in her ear, "You seem more sensitive in someone else's house. I can feel it even through the fabric."
Alicia's cheeks flushed crimson, and she struggled against him.
