Chapter 624: Dorian scoffed. "What do you have besides money, Caden? Do you really think you can take me on?"
Caden's bodyguards immediately surrounded Dorian. But Dorian's expression remained steady, unfazed. "If your men so much as touch me," he threatened, his voice low, "I'll ensure the hospital's life support is shut down. Gareth will die instantly."
Caden stilled. The bodyguards exchanged hesitant glances.
Dorian stepped closer, his voice a murmur. "Caden, I never wanted Gareth dead. I'm giving you a chance. We've known each other for years; I'd rather not turn this into a battle for survival."
Caden sneered. "What kind of chance? Marrying Yolanda?"
Dorian's eyes gleamed with defiance. "You no longer have the right to choose. You will become Yolanda's 'boytoy,' regardless of your willingness."
A dark smile spread across Caden's face. "Is she that desperate? My dog hasn't even found a mate yet—maybe Yolanda should consider that."
Dorian's eyes flared with anger, his pupils narrowing. Rage simmered beneath the surface, but he maintained his composure. Caden, aware of Dorian's influence within the hospital, met his gaze unflinchingly. Neither would yield.
Dorian's voice was venomous. "I'll wait to witness Gareth's end."
"And I'll be there to witness yours," Caden shot back, his voice equally cold.
With a derisive glance, Dorian turned and left. Immediately, Caden called other hospitals, arranging backup plans to move Gareth if necessary. Dorian, unrestrained, was capable of anything.
Moments later, the operating room doors burst open. A doctor emerged, his gloved hands bloody. "Who is the patient's family?"
Caden stepped forward. "I am."
"What's going on with Gareth?" The doctor's face was etched with worry. "There's an unexpected medication shortage from the warehouse. His wounds are severe, and we're struggling to control the bleeding. Without the necessary drugs, his condition will worsen rapidly. Mr. Ward, you need to act fast."
Caden's gaze darkened, a storm brewing in his eyes.
