Chapter 643
Gerry walked over, concern etched on his face. "Are you alright? My brother said you left for an urgent matter abroad. What happened?"
Still feeling the residue of sleep and sweat, Caden responded casually, "It's nothing serious. Have a seat. I need a shower."
Gerry's brow furrowed. "A shower? This early?" Alicia, watching from the side, looked puzzled. Ever since Caden's return, he'd seemed distracted and distant. It was midday. Why the sudden need for a shower?
Caden washed quickly and stepped out, surprised to find Alicia waiting with fresh clothes. He took them, his expression softening slightly. "Why the fuss?" he muttered.
Alicia studied his face, concern flickering in her eyes. "Is this still about Gareth?"
Caden paused, realizing her misunderstanding. A strange warmth stirred in his chest. "No, it's not that. I just had a dream," he said, a hint of a smile appearing.
Alicia's eyes widened. "A dream? But why did you look so troubled?"
Caden's expression darkened, though a playful glint lingered. "Have you ever dreamed about me?"
Alicia's cheeks flushed crimson. She shook her head quickly, avoiding his gaze. "No. Never."
Caden smirked knowingly. "Was I everything you wanted in the dream?" he murmured.
Alicia realized she couldn't keep secrets from him. The intensity of his questioning both intrigued and intimidated her. "Yes," she whispered.
Caden laughed charmingly. "In that dream, you didn't just satisfy me; you nearly exhausted me."
Alicia's eyes widened in disbelief. "What kind of nightmare is that?" she snapped. "Who could possibly exhaust you? You're like a machine that only needs a bit of tuning to run for three days straight!"
Caden broke into laughter.
