"If Caden wanted dinner with me, he should have asked," Alicia said, ending the call before Gerry could respond. He sighed. Why was he always caught in the middle of their arguments?

Minutes later, Gerry sped to the airport, arriving within half an hour. He spotted Caden, who had just disembarked.

"What kept you so busy in another town?" Gerry asked. "Sounds like you and Alicia had a fight."

Caden looked tired but determined. He'd traveled to buy Alicia a gift, hoping to make amends. "Where's Alicia?" he asked, scanning the terminal.

Gerry shrugged. "She said she was busy and couldn't make it."

Caden's brow furrowed as he started to leave. Then, he spotted Alicia moving through the crowd. Blake had also just arrived. Alicia stood deep in thought, her mind filled with images of Caden, unaware of his proximity.

Caden's expression softened. "Didn't you say she was...?" Gerry asked, equally confused. "She told me she was busy on the phone," he continued, a realization dawning. "Are you two pulling a fast one on me? Pretending to be busy, but actually meeting in secret? Wow, you guys are really setting me up!"

Caden remained silent. Alicia didn't seem the type to play games. They hadn't communicated for several days because Caden had deliberately given her space, expecting a stronger reaction. Why would she prank Gerry and surprise him? Despite his fatigue and longing for her, Caden didn't dwell on it. He simply walked toward Alicia, wanting only to hug her.
