Chapter 683
Caden stepped back, but remained facing Alicia. "I'm still right here beside you."
"Then why did you let go?" Alicia asked, her voice filled with anxiety.
Caden chuckled, a low, resonant sound. "If you're scared, why not remove the blindfold?"
Alicia paused, stunned by his logic. She reached for the blindfold, but a buzzing sound overhead caught her attentionโthe high-pitched vibration of a small drone. The buzzing echoed in her ears, affecting even her heartbeat. Before removing the blindfold, she called out, "Caden, are you still there?"
"I'm here, Alicia," he reassured her.
Encouraged, she pulled off the blindfold and slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes, sparkling like crystal, reflected the breathtaking view. Alicia gasped. She stood on the roof of a fifty-story building, the vista sprawling endlessly before her. Caden leaned casually against the handrail, his smile partially obscuring the magnificent scene. Behind him stood a grand castle, identical to the model they had assembled in the office just hours earlier.
Alicia's mouth fell open in amazement; her own heartbeat filled her ears. "Caden," she breathed, overwhelmed, able to utter only his name.
His lips curled into a delighted smile. "Do you like it?"
Alicia was speechless. The gift was like a treasure chest, each layer revealing a new wonder. Caden stepped closer, draping his arm around her waist. Their foreheads touched; their eyes locked, as if merging into one.
"Do you like it?" he asked again.
A single tear rolled down Alicia's cheek as she nodded. "I love it, Caden. I really love it."
