Chapter 364

He crooked a finger at Micah. โ€œAlright, letโ€™s settle this, just you and me. If you lose, you stay out of my sight forever!โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t do this! Are you forgetting youโ€™re hurt?โ€ Ivy hissed, trying to keep her voice down.

Her heart pounded so hard she could barely think. She didnโ€™t have time to worry about how out of hand things were getting or what trouble this might bring her. All she could picture was Jamisonโ€™s wound tearing open again.

โ€œJamison, letโ€™s just go. You need to get checked out at the hospital.โ€ Her face was tight with anxiety as she pleaded with him again, her voice barely above a whisper.

But Jamison didnโ€™t budge. He stared at his nephew, eyes blazing with a fury that could eat someone alive, as Micah dragged himself out of the fountain, still dripping wet.

Micah could hardly stand straight, but when he heard Jamisonโ€™s challenge, he looked ready to lunge at him. Before he could, though, the old manโ€™s voice thundered through the chaos: โ€œMicah!โ€

Carla lunged for her son, gripping his arm desperately.

But Micah wasnโ€™t about to give in. He fought like a wild animal, kicking and thrashing, hurling curses at everyone around him.

The estate security arrived, and with Carlaโ€™s help, finally managed to pin him down.

โ€œHave you all lost your minds?โ€ the patriarch roared, pounding his cane against the floor. โ€œNephew and uncle brawling like common thugsโ€“do you want the town to laugh at us?โ€

Ivy, terrified Jamison would rush in again, clung to his arm, putting herself right in front of him as a human shield.

โ€œJamisonโ€ฆ please, donโ€™t make me worry about you,โ€ she pleaded, her voice soft and desperate. She knew he never responded to force, only to gentle words.

Maybe it was her concern, or maybe just exhaustion, but Jamison finally seemed to calm down, his anger ebbing away.

Ivy wasted no time and tried to lead him out.

โ€œStop!โ€ Carla had finally managed to restrain her son, and now, seeing the instigator about to leave, she snapped.

Jamison paused, turning back to her, his tone icy. โ€œWhat, you want me to teach your son another lesson?โ€

Carlaโ€™s eyes shone with angry tears, her breath coming fast. โ€œJamison, Micah is your nephew! How could you do this? You threw him into the fountainโ€“heโ€™s bleeding from the chin!โ€

Her voice trembled between fury and grievance as she turned to her parents. โ€œMom, Dad, are you just going to stand there? Heโ€™s always done whatever he wants, never caring about family! And now, for the sake of some woman who isnโ€™t worth it, he treats his own nephew like an enemy!โ€

She rounded on Ivy, her anger reaching its peak. โ€œAnd you, Ivyโ€“are there no other men in the world? Of all people, you had to go for your ex-boyfriendโ€™s uncle. Donโ€™t tell me you werenโ€™t trying to get back at someoneโ€“who would believe it?โ€

Carla had been holding this in for ages, and now, with the dam broken, she let it all out at once.

Adela Ludwig stepped forward, her face tight with anger, though she knew shouting wouldnโ€™t help. She pressed down her temper and tried to reason with her daughter. โ€œEnough. Take Micah to get changed.โ€

โ€œI want Jamison to give me an explanation first!โ€ Carla refused to let it go.

Jamisonโ€™s expression was ice-cold, his black suit making him look all the more unapproachable. โ€œYou want an explanation? The only one owed here is from your son. Ivy is my wife nowโ€“his aunt by marriage. He completely disregarded family boundaries and behaved outrageously in public. How do you explain that?โ€

Carla shot back, โ€œDonโ€™t be ridiculous! It always takes twoโ€“if Ivy hadnโ€™t led him on, he wouldnโ€™t be acting like this.โ€

โ€œBelieve what you want. But Iโ€™ll say this: if he ever bothers Ivy again, Iโ€™ll do worse than I did today. Much worse.โ€

โ€œJamison!โ€ Adela Ludwig had made her way to her youngest sonโ€™s side. Hearing this, she couldnโ€™t hold back her irritation and tapped him sharply with her cane, silently telling him to stop.
