Chapter 115
Ryan looked at the people passed out on the ground and quickly grabbed Winifredโs hand. โWinifred, thatโs enough. Theyโre out cold.โ
Winifred pulled her hand back, glanced at their faces, and sneered, โDoesnโt look like theyโre really out. Should I let a snake loose and see what happens?โ
Hearing this, the people on the ground snapped their eyes open, ignoring the pain as they dropped to their knees and begged for mercy. โWe fucked up! Pleaseโpleaseโweโre sorry!โ
โLittle witch, we swear, weโll never set foot on your turf again!โ
โYeah, yeah, we only got fifty thousand. Weโll give it all back, every last cent, alright!โ
Winifred hopped onto a nearby platform, dangling her long legs. โThen bring it over already.โ
โOkay, okay!โ
Winifred took the money and swaggered back with Ryan.
Ryan couldnโt help but ask, โWinifred, are we supposed to give this money back?โ
Winifred shot him a sideways glance, eyes narrowed. โWe got this with our own skillsโwhy give it back? Letโs go buy ourselves something delicious.โ
Just then, her phone buzzed with a message: [Cripple someone for me tomorrow night. One million. You in?]
Winifred washed her hands, her eyes turning cold. [Send the info.]
The info came through fast. Winifred skimmed it and let out a derisive snort. โOnly a million to risk going to a place like that? What a joke.โ
She texted: [Make it three, and Iโll take any body part.]
The response came: [Deal. Three million. Break his legs. One million upfront, two million after itโs done.]
Winifred replied: [Guess you donโt know how I work. I never take deposits. If you want me on the job, wire the full amount to my account within ten minutes. Any later, and the price goes up.]
She shoved her phone into her pocket and headed straight for the convenience store; it was a ten-minute walk, give or take. Right as she was about to step through the door, her phone chimedโa cool three million just landed in her account.
Back at her place, Winifred started digging into the details. It seemed there was a business symposium. All the major players in Vallaris would be there. Not exactly the easiest place to make a move, especially since Sienna would be there too.
โWhat a pain,โ she muttered under her breath.
She crushed an empty beer can in her hand and tossed it over her shoulder, nailing the trash can from across the room. โLooks like I need to come up with a backup plan,โ she thought.
The next morning, a pang of disappointment hit Vivian when she found no one by her side. โDid Sienna sneak off to see Amber last night?โ she wondered.
After washing up, she headed downstairs and saw Amber and Sienna sitting together, both focused on the same tablet. Jealousy and envy grew wild in her.
โWhat are you guys looking at?โ Vivian asked, doing her best to hide the disappointment and uneasiness in her eyes. She strode over and sat down next to Sienna.
โGoing over some questions. Amber got stuck on a few, so Iโm helping her figure out the key points,โ Sienna replied.
Vivian grumbled, โSheโs literally the worst in the whole schoolโsince when can she even solve problems? Sis, I think sheโs just making trouble and wasting your time.โ
Sienna turned to Amber and gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze. โAmberโs actually really smart. Sheโs not wasting my time at all. In fact, Iโm genuinely interested in the way she solves problems. Vivian, donโt talk about your sister like that.โ
Vivian wasnโt going to embarrass herself in front of Sienna.
