Chapter 19

Vivian stared at Vivianโ€™s faceโ€”so noble, so cool, so impossibly beautiful.

A slow, dangerous smile spread across Vivianโ€™s own lips. She strode forward, and thenโ€”two sharp slaps, one for each of Lindaโ€™s cheeks.

Linda was stunned into silence. She couldnโ€™t believe it. The little tramp had actually hit her. โ€œVivian, you dare to hit me!โ€ she screamed.

โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€ Vivian spat. โ€œYour mouth is filthy, Linda. And so are you. A shameless, disgusting, morally bankrupt woman."

โ€œHow dare you speak to me like that!โ€ Linda was furious, but she could do nothing.

โ€œExcellent,โ€ Sienna crossed her arms, a flicker of amusement in her eyes, then she turned to the security team. โ€œThe rest of you will collect the remainder of the debt on my sisterโ€™s behalf.โ€

One of the guards stepped forward and delivered a rapid series of slaps to Lindaโ€™s face. She didnโ€™t even have time to scream before her face swelled up like a balloon, a symphony of throbbing pain.

โ€œAnd you,โ€ Sienna said, turning to the maids Linda had hired, the ones who had stood by and watched Vivianโ€™s breakdown. โ€œYouโ€™re all fired.โ€

They looked pleadingly at Linda, who could only glare back through her swollen eyes, speechless with rage.

โ€œOn what grounds?โ€ Linda fought back. โ€œThey work for me! Sienna, your father and I are a legally married couple!โ€

โ€œA couple?โ€ Sienna laughed. โ€œA couple needs a marriage certificate. Did you ever get one?โ€

Lindaโ€™s face went pale. Sienna knew they wouldnโ€™t have. Marrying Linda would have required Aiden to relinquish his shares in the Hart Corporation, and he was far too greedy for that.

Selina had been brilliant. Even in death, she had ensured her deadbeat husband couldnโ€™t use her money to marry another woman.

Just then, Aiden burst back in, dragging a large, balding man behind him. โ€œWhatโ€™s the rush? Whyโ€™d you drag me to your house?โ€ the man grumbled.

The moment Vivian saw him, the blood drained from her face, the old wounds tearing open anew. Linda, however, smirked.

Aiden was panting, his face a mask of fury. No matter how flawed Vivian was, she was still his daughter. โ€œKevin, you bastard!โ€ he roared. โ€œI considered you a friend, and you assaulted my daughter!โ€

Kevin Wagner feigned confusion. โ€œWhat are you talking about, Aiden? I donโ€™t understand.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t play dumb with me! Nine years ago, I invited you to my home as a guest, and you attacked my daughter!โ€ Aiden snapped. โ€œDo you want to die?โ€

Kevinโ€™s face stiffened. He saw Vivian and it all came back to him. He realized they were digging up old dirt. But it was so long ago. โ€œI donโ€™t know what youโ€™re talking about,โ€ he blustered. โ€œYou need proof to make accusations like that, Aiden. What proof do you have?โ€

Sienna put a comforting arm around Vivian. โ€œItโ€™s okay. Letโ€™s show them the proof and send him to prison, shall we?โ€

Vivian sniffled and nodded, her voice ringing with conviction. โ€œI have proof.โ€

All the cameras in the house had been removed back then, but the one in her room had remained. She had kept the evidence for nine long years, knowing her father wouldnโ€™t believe her, that Linda would just talk her way out of it.

โ€œYou brat, that was years ago! Youโ€™re talking nonsense!โ€ Kevinโ€™s face paled. He then turned to Aiden, โ€œKeep her in line, Aiden!โ€

Crash! Sienna picked up a teapot from a nearby table and smashed it over his head. Blood instantly matted his hair.

With a scream, Linda staggered back, trembling at the sight of the blood.

Sienna tossed the broken porcelain aside. โ€œYou will pay for this,โ€ she hissed.

Painfully, Kevin stared at her in terror, his hands flying to his bleeding head. He saw the ghost of Selina.

Just then, the doorbell rang. It was the police. โ€œWe received a report of an assault,โ€ a police officer said, stepping into the room. โ€œMr. Wagner, youโ€™re under arrest for the violent assault of a minor. Come with us.โ€

As they cuffed him, Kevin struggled. โ€œOn what grounds? What proof do you have?โ€

โ€œWe have video surveillance of the crime,โ€ the officer stated flatly. โ€œIf you resist further, we will be forced to use non-lethal force.โ€

Vivian turned to Sienna, her eyes wide with disbelief, โ€œSienna, how did you get the video?โ€ She thought she had kept that video hidden so carefully.

โ€œBecause Iโ€™m your sister,โ€ Sienna just smiled and ruffled her hair.

The previous night, after Vivianโ€™s confession, she had immediately sent Lana to investigate. There was no physical evidence, but Sienna remembered the camera in Vivianโ€™s room.

She had Lana track any packages Vivian might have mailed, and sure enough, they found a record of a video file sent to a secure storage facility nine years ago.

Vivian nodded, a feeling of absolute safety washing over her. The secrets that had poisoned her for years were finally out in the open. She looked at her sister, who seemed to radiate a light that chased away all shadows.

โ€œMiss Sienna, Miss Vivian,โ€ the chef announced. โ€œDinner is served.โ€

Linda couldnโ€™t believe itโ€”there was evidence. Fury burned in her chest. Aiden, meanwhile, looked at Vivian, his face heavy with guilt.

A sixteen-year-old girlโ€ฆ how could he have been so blind? He remembered her trying to tell him, and yet heโ€™d slapped her, called her a liar, accused her of framing an innocent man.

He had believed Lindaโ€™s silver-tongued lies. The truth was more horrific than he could have imagined. His gaze toward Linda hardened. When she tried to take his arm, he brushed her off and walked away.

Lindaโ€™s expression darkened. โ€˜Sienna, you think a few small wins will break me? Dream on,โ€™ she vowed silently.

Soon, it was dinner time. But at the dinner table, not a single dish was to Lindaโ€™s liking.

โ€œWho cooked this?โ€ Linda demanded. โ€œWhy didnโ€™t you follow my menu?โ€ But no one answered. The staff ignored her completely.

Aiden had no nerve to reply as well. He handed Vivian a piece of bread, guilt written all over his face.

If he had shown her even a fraction of this concern nine years ago, perhaps she wouldnโ€™t be the broken girl she was today.

Vivian still took the bread, bit into it without a word. The three of them ate in comfortable silence, leaving Linda to fume.

Sienna, catching her venomous glare out of the corner of her eye, gave a quiet order. โ€œIt seems this meal is not to Ms. Lambertโ€™s taste. We wouldnโ€™t want to inconvenience her.โ€

Two guards appeared, grabbed Linda by the arms, and threw her out the front door, ignoring her screams and protests.

Aiden opened his mouth to protest, but then thought better of it and returned to his meal.
