Chapter 208
He leaned forward, watching her face like a hawk, desperate to catch the smallest shift in her expression.
Sienna stilled. Her lashes trembled, her pupils tightening almost imperceptibly.
โWhatโs your point?โ she said coldly.
Thom's voice broke with frustration. โWhat's my point! Are you serious? You've been back for months, and you haven't called them once! They took you in, treated you as one of their own, and youโโ
โEnough!โ Before he could finish, Sienna suddenly shot to her feet, her expression darkening like a gathering storm. Her voice was icy as she snapped, โThey called me their daughter, but you know what they wanted: Thorn. To use me. To erase who I am, to turn me into someone Iโm not. And you dare call that family?โ
Her sudden burst of fury scared the hell out of Thom. In all his memories, sheโd never lost control like this.
Sienna drew in a slow breath, lowered her voice, and just like that, she was back to her usual calm and collected self.
โIโm not denying the kindness they showed me. They gave me a second chance at life, and for that, I owe the Noir family. But donโt forget, I paid that debt in full.โ Her tone was calm, but her words were steel.
Sienna was someone who had clawed her way out of the abyss. At eighteen, when she saw the Noir family in crisis, she didnโt hesitate to throw herself back into the darkness, fighting her way through hell to carve out a path for them, all to repay her parents.
But all that โloveโ they gave her was laced with manipulation and lies. They hid her true identity, faked her past, and made her believe she was someone she wasnโt. She hated herself for not regaining her memories sooner. And the people who'd paid the priceโher sisters, left behind to be tormented and humiliatedโwho would make it right?
If only theyโd told her the truth, Vivian and the others wouldnโt have ended up like this. Now, all she wanted was to make things right.
Thorn went quiet, his shoulders tense. Finally, he stood, his voice low. โAlright. I get it.โ
As he turned to leave, Sienna's voice floated behind him. โI'll go back, but not now. Like I said before, everything that belongs to the Noir family, I can give it all back to you.โ
Thorn froze mid-step, his face shadowed, a bitter smile twisting his lips. โI donโt want it.โ
Because without her, none of it mattered.
โWhenever you decide to come back, Iโll be waiting.โ Thorn tossed it over his shoulder, then rushed out the door.
He was moving so fast, not acting all weak and sickly.
She watched him go, but little did she knowโThorn had bought the house right across the street. From now on, heโd know every time she came and went.
Thorn barely made it out of the gate before someone collided with him. โWatch where youโre going,โ he grumbled, but stopped short when he realized it was Wayne. Wayne was about to apologize, but the instant he saw who it was, the words died on his lips.
โWhat the hell are you doing here?โ Thorn demanded, his tone sharp.
Wayne squinted at him, completely unimpressed. โWhat, you own this street now? Stay out of my business.โ
With that, he brushed past Thorn and strode away without looking back.
โYouโโ Thorn clenched his fists in frustration, glaring as Wayne swaggered right into the Hart familyโs house. Ebert, the butlerโฆ
Wayne, you bastard, Thorn fumed inwardly.

Meanwhile, Leo had no idea the Z5 Serum had already been swapped out. He grinned smugly as he handed the vial to the buyer, just waiting for the initial payment so he could vanish. But when the bodyguard tested it, his expression darkened. โThis isnโt Z5.โ
Leo was stunned for a moment, then quickly shook his head. โNo way, thatโs impossible! Your test must be wrong. Try it again. You screwed up somewhere, I know it!โ
