Chapter 213

โ€œSienna, was Wayne the one who dropped you off?โ€ Winifred greeted Sienna at the door.

Winifred thought, โ€˜Sienna is so beautiful, amazing, and strong. Not just anyone deserves her. As her family, I have to stay on high alert around any guy who gets close to her. If any of them arenโ€™t good enough, Iโ€™ll kick them out and make sure they never come back.โ€™

โ€œYeah, how was school today?โ€ Sienna asked, ruffling Winifredโ€™s hair.

Winifred hugged Siennaโ€™s arm. โ€œIt was okay. Sienna, do you know about Iris?โ€

โ€œYeah, why bring her up? Did she mess with you?โ€ Sienna asked.

โ€œNo, no one dares mess with me. I was just curious,โ€ Winifred replied.

โ€œIf anything happens, you can always tell me. By the way, whereโ€™s Amber? Isnโ€™t she back yet?โ€ Sienna asked. Itโ€™s already this late, and she should be home by now.

โ€œI donโ€™t know,โ€ Winifred replied.

โ€œIโ€™ll go look for her,โ€ Sienna said, heading for the door. Winifred quickly grabbed her hand. โ€œSienna, sheโ€™s not a little kid. Sheโ€™ll come back on her own. Come with me first, I want to show you something.โ€

She practically dragged Sienna inside, her face glowing with excitement. She had prepared a special gift for herโ€”a painting she made herself. After secretly noticing that Sienna liked dark-themed flowers, she went out of her way to paint a black rose just for her. She knew Sienna would love it.

Winifred, full of joy, led Sienna to the huge cardboard box in the living room. She had only just finished the painting, and the paint was still wet, so she had to hide it under the big box.

Sienna stared at the giant box, her curiosity and excitement growing.

Winifred ripped off the ribbon with a flourishโ€”only for the box to burst open and reveal not her painting, but Amber popping out instead.

Winifredโ€™s eyes went wide. For a few seconds, she could only stare. Then she exploded. โ€œOh my god, Amber! Are you insane? Whatโ€™s wrong with you? Why are you there? Who told you to do that? Whereโ€™s my painting!โ€

Amber snorted, totally ignoring Winifred, and threw herself straight at Sienna.

โ€œSis, look! I got third place in the grade-wide exam!โ€ Amber said excitedly.

Sienna opened her arms and hugged her. โ€œThatโ€™s amazing! Youโ€™ve improved so much.โ€ After glancing over the report card, she asked, โ€œSo, whereโ€™s the gift Winifred made for me?โ€

Amber puffed out her cheeks, clearly a bit annoyed. She shot Winifred a look and jabbed her finger toward the corner. โ€œItโ€™s over there.โ€

Winifredโ€™s anger boiled over. Her surpriseโ€”her heartfelt effortโ€”was ruined by this idiot. Now her painting lay dumped in the corner, collecting dust. Unforgivable!

โ€œAmber, where did you get the guts to pull something like this?โ€ Winifred roared, storming toward her. She pinched Amberโ€™s cheeks with vengeance.

โ€œOw! That hurt! Let go of me!โ€ Amber whimpered, tears welling up in her eyes.

โ€œWinifred, let go of your sister,โ€ Sienna said.

Ignoring Amber was just too much. The only reason she hadnโ€™tโ€ฆ

โ€œAmber, apologize to Winifred. You were in the wrong here,โ€ Sienna said firmly.

Amber pouted, tears rolling down like pearls on a string. The hot drops landed on Winifredโ€™s fingers, making her yank her hand back like sheโ€™d been shocked.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry,โ€ Amber whimpered, sniffling. 'Winifred hogs all of Siennaโ€™s attention these days. Sienna even gets to sleep with her at nightโ€ฆ and me? Iโ€™m left alone hugging my pillow,' Amber thought miserably.

Winifred crossed her arms, scowling. โ€œWhy are you crying? Youโ€™re the one who messed up! You go through my stuff without permission and still have the nerve to cry?โ€

Amber immediately perked up, ready to fire back at her.

โ€œYouโ€™re the one with no manners! You came to my school on that crappy motorcycle, yelling my name at the gate. Do you have any idea how embarrassing that was? Youโ€™re such a public menace!โ€
