Chapter 223

Sienna knew Reno had rescued Vivian. She glanced at the two barely alive, tortured figures in front of her. She hadn’t even finished her cup of coffee. How boring, Sienna thought to herself.

“Take them to the police station,” Sienna ordered.

“Yes, Miss Sienna,” someone nodded.

Meanwhile, Nathan and Vivian returned together, just in time to see Henry and Sheryl being taken away by the police.

Henry spotted his son and thought Nathan had come to save them. Just as Henry was about to call out for help, he saw Nathan stand behind Vivian.

In that instant, Henry realized what was going on. "So, Nathan betrayed me," he thought bitterly.

His face turned a deep shade of purple as Henry spat out curses, “Nathan, you’ll die a miserable death. I should’ve strangled you the moment you were born, bastard. You’re nothing but a disgrace to your blood.”

Nathan’s expression didn’t change at all; he acted as if he hadn’t even heard Henry’s words.

Sheryl glared at Nathan with hatred and unwillingness in her eyes. She simply couldn’t accept this reality.

“Why is it always Nathan, the one I’ve always looked down on, who ends up coming out on top?” Sheryl thought bitterly. "Why him? Why?"

“I tried to reason with you before, but you wouldn’t listen. Now that you’ve ended up like this, who else can you blame? You brought it all on yourselves,” Nathan said with a sigh.

Nathan couldn’t understand what they were thinking. Wouldn’t it have been better to just live a peaceful life? Why did they have to keep scheming against each other? he wondered.

“What’s the point in all this cutthroat fighting? If you never know when to be content, this is how you end up,” Nathan thought to himself.

Nathan let out a cold, silent laugh and wondered, “As for family? It doesn’t matter at all. They never care about me. All I ever got was beatings and insults. Where was the so-called father-son bond? And Sheryl was always blinded by greed, always scheming to snatch things from me.”

“Sienna?” Vivian called out as soon as she saw her long-missed sister, throwing herself straight into Sienna’s arms.

“I’ve missed you so much, Sienna,” Vivian said.

“I’ve missed you, too,” Sienna replied softly.

“Sienna, let me introduce you. This is Nathan Winslow. He saved me,” Vivian said, her voice trailing off.

Sienna’s cold, piercing gaze landed on Nathan, making him so nervous that he swallowed hard, feeling very uneasy.

Sienna spoke in a calm, detached voice, “He won’t be dragged into this. You can relax.”

Nathan almost went weak at the knees. Her aura is seriously overwhelming, downright terrifying, he thought.

Sienna watched Nathan’s back as he left. She’d already looked into him and knew Nathan was nothing like Henry.

Sienna’d never planned to pin the Winslow family’s crimes on Nathan anyway. But actually, she had never thought he’d end up saving Vivian by chance.

“Sienna, I’ve missed you so much,” Zane came running over, tears welling up in his eyes as he tried to throw himself at Sienna and Vivian.

Sienna held up a hand to stop him, her expression as calm as ever. “You’re here?”

“Sienna, you have no idea how tough it was for me to get here," Zane chattered nonstop, carefully pounding her shoulders with his fists in a mock massage.

“Got it. Thanks,” Sienna replied.

“Sienna, when are we doing the surgery?” Zane asked, his voice full of anticipation. Getting to be Sienna’s assistant was the best thing that could happen to Zane, not to mention, it gave him the perfect chance to pick up a few tricks on the side.

Sienna replied, “In ten days.”

Sienna planned to wait until after Winifred’s competition to explain everything and get the surgery done as soon as possible. But before that, Sienna still had to settle things with the Bayer family.

“There’s also a minor surgery I need you to handle. Take a few days to get ready. I’ll have Reno send you the details,” Sienna added.

“Sienna, where are you going?” Vivian asked, noticing Sienna was about to head out and quickly getting up to follow her.

“I’m going to the Bayer family,” Sienna replied.

Vivian had a vague memory of the Bayer family. Ten years ago, after Sienna’s accident, the Bayer family had shown up wanting to take them away. But since they’d never had any contact with them growing up, the Bayer family felt like complete strangers to them.

With Aiden’s constant brainwashing, making the Bayer family out to be utterly evil, they’d wanted nothing to do with them.
