Chapter 253

Zane was still fixing his hair when Sienna walked in, carrying someone in her arms. The mirror slipped from his hands and shattered on the floor with a loud crash.

โ€œSienna, what happened to you? How did you end up hurt like this?โ€ Zane cried out, his face going pale as he rushed over.

He saw Siennaโ€™s back covered in scrapes and bruises, some so deep one could almost see the bone. Zaneโ€™s eyes went wide with horror. He slapped a hand over his mouth, tears pouring down his face.

โ€œSienna, you need to lie down. Let me bandage you up first,โ€ Zane stammered, his voice shaking.

Before he could finish, Sienna turned to face him, her eyes cold and sharp.

โ€œThereโ€™s no time, Zane,โ€ she said flatly. โ€œStart the surgery right now. We have to get that chip out of her immediately.โ€

Sienna grabbed a set of clothes from the side and started putting them on. Even as the fabric scraped over her wounds, she acted as if nothing had happened, completely unfazed.

One of her fingers was broken, but with a brutal snap, Sienna forced it back into place herself, not even blinking.

Zane stood there, both shocked and aching for her. But he knew this wasnโ€™t the time to fall apart.

There was no room for error with Winifredโ€™s surgery, and Zane knew he couldnโ€™t handle it by himself either. Only Sienna could guarantee a 100% success rate.

โ€œWhat? Is that true?โ€ In the office, Iris overheard the nurses gossiping that the most mysterious miracle doctor, Nicholas Solis, would be performing surgery in the operating room tonight. She could barely contain her excitement and joy.

Nicholas was Irisโ€™s idol. She never imagined she would get to see Nicholas here.

Iris didnโ€™t hesitate for a second. She rushed to the operating room doors, only to be stopped by a wall of bodyguards. โ€œNo one is allowed near,โ€ one of them said firmly.

โ€œIโ€™m a doctor. I work at this hospital. I need to go in and help,โ€ Iris insisted, trying to push past them.

But the bodyguards didnโ€™t budge. One of them shoved her back, firm but not rough. โ€œPlease leave. No one is allowed near the operating room.โ€

Iris clenched her teeth, then let out a resigned sigh. โ€˜Fine, Iโ€™ll wait,โ€™ she told herself.

Iris was certain Nicholas was inside. There was no way sheโ€™d leave without seeing her. โ€˜Just who could possibly have invited Dr. Solis to come here?โ€™ she wondered, her curiosity burning.

Rumor had it that no one had ever seen what Nicholas actually looked like. People only assumed it was a man because of his name.

No matter what, Iris was determined to become his apprentice tonight. She had waited for this day for years, and all her previous attempts to find him had ended in failure.

โ€˜If I could become Dr. Solisโ€™s apprentice, my name would be known everywhere. Why would I ever need to worry about Sienna again?โ€™ Iris thought.

Inside the operating room, Siennaโ€™s eyes were icy and utterly devoid of emotion as she coldly manipulated the scalpel in her hand. Zane stood beside her, completely focused.

Every second countedโ€“this was a race against time.

By the time the surgery finally ended, it was already 5 a.m. Sienna still showed not a trace of fatigue, while even Zane was struggling to stay on his feet.

He just couldnโ€™t fathom how his senior, with such severe injuries, could keep going like nothing was wrong.

With a sharp snap, the scissors landed in the tray. Sienna closed her eyes in silence and let out a deep, relieved sigh. Finally, the operation was a success.

โ€œSienna?โ€ Zane started, reaching out to steady her.

But Sienna waved him off. โ€œYou take her,โ€ she said flatly.

โ€œSure.โ€ Zane nodded.

As soon as Zane stepped out of the operating room, Iris rushed over, her face brimming with excitement. โ€œDr. Solis, my name is Irisโ€“ Wait, you?โ€ she blurted out, her words catching as she recognized him.

Iris stared at Zane in disbelief. โ€œWhy is he coming out of the operating room? One thing was absolutely certain; thereโ€™s no way heโ€™s the Dr. Solis Iโ€™m looking for,โ€ she thought.

His name was Zane. She had done her homework on him and knew all about his background; he was a fairly well-known doctor in his own right.

Zane muttered under his breath, โ€œWhat a nutcase.โ€

But as Zane brushed by, Iris caught a glimpse of Winifred inside, and her jaw nearly dropped. โ€˜Wait, it was she who got the surgery? I never wouldโ€™ve guessed,โ€™ she thought, stunned.

โ€˜Dr. Solis has to be in there,โ€™ Iris thought, clenching her fists so tight her knuckles turned pale. โ€˜If Sienna actually managed to invite Dr. Solisโ€“โ€™ She stood her ground, stubborn and unwilling to give in.

โ€˜So what if Siennaโ€™s rich? Big deal,โ€™ Iris muttered, jealousy simmering in her chest.

โ€œIs Dr. Solis still in there?โ€ Iris stopped a nurse and pressed her urgently.

The nurse nodded. They had only found out after the surgery that the girl from earlier was actually the legendary Nicholas. โ€˜Sheโ€™s incredible,โ€™ the nurse thought, her eyes full of admiration.

โ€œYes, sheโ€™s still in there,โ€ the nurse replied.

Iris was practically bursting with impatience as she pressed on, โ€œHow old is Nicholas? Is he young orโ€“โ€

The nurse, thinking Iris was just another super fan, smiled and said, โ€œActually, Dr. Solis isnโ€™t a man; sheโ€™s a woman. I donโ€™t know what she looks like, but sheโ€™s really incredible.โ€

โ€˜A girl?โ€™ Iris thought, completely stunned. This answer left her reeling. โ€˜So Dr. Solis is actually a woman? We all thought she was a man.โ€™

โ€œSo thatโ€™s how it is,โ€ Iris murmured.

โ€˜If sheโ€™s a woman, itโ€™ll be so much easier for me. Iโ€™m definitely going to become her apprentice,โ€™ Iris thought, her confidence soaring.

Inside the operating room, Sienna took off her gloves, her eyelashes trembling as a flash of pain flickered in her eyes.

She braced herself against the wall with one arm, barely managing to stay upright. โ€˜Hold it together, Sienna,โ€™ she told herself, forcing down the pain as she paused to catch her breath before finally stepping out.
