Chapter 275
Thornโs face went from red to pale, completely lost for words, and could only glare at Finn in utter frustration.
โSienna, go wait for me in the room. Iโll take him to the ward,โ Enoch said.
โAlright, Iโll wait for you,โ Sienna replied.
As soon as Sienna left, Thorn jerked his hand away and snapped, โI donโt need your fake kindness. Youโre totally doing this on purpose, just to mess with me, arenโt you?โ
Finn gave him a genuinely confused look. โI really donโt get what you mean. I was the one who suggested you come on board. You got hurt saving me, so of course I should look after you. Wouldnโt you say so?โ
Thorn felt a surge of frustration burning inside him. No matter what he said, he just came off as petty, unreasonable, and impossible to please.
But Finn always sounded so reasonable. He thought, โHeโs always the good guy, always playing the saint, unshakable as ever. Damn it!
โI donโt need your help. Iโll go by myself,โ Thorn snapped, shoving him aside and limping away.
Evan Ash watched him limp away. Clearly he knew if one wanted whatโs good for him, never cross Mr. Eaton.
โMr. Eaton, what else should I do?โ Evan asked.
โItโs fine. He asked for it, talking trash about Sienna right in front of me.โ Finn believed he really had no clue about Sienna.
Sienna got interested in jade too, so she decided to appraise some pieces with Finn.
Vivian Hart was still working in the car, while Nathan Winslow was slumped in his seat, looking completely drained. Heโd been stuck with her all night, and he couldnโt help but wonder, โWho the hell negotiates business until dawn?โ
He was getting paid ten grand for this, but it felt like a raw deal.
As he thought about it, he glanced over at Vivianโs gorgeous face. Suddenly, he felt like maybe he was actually coming out ahead.
Vivian finished reviewing the last of the data, shut her laptop, and rubbed her temples. She remembered how Nathan had stuck by her all night, playing the perfect escort and keeping a lot of people at bay.
โNathan, Iโm really sorry for keeping you up all night. Letโs grab something to eat, then Iโll take you home. Iโll pay you an extra grand,โ she said.
Nathan opened the door, then walked around to her side and held it open for her.
โItโs fine! Youโre my new client. If you ever need this kind of thing again, just come to meโthough my rates might be a bit higher next time.โ
Vivian smiled. โAlright, Iโll definitely come to you.โ
โMuch appreciated.โ
When Wayne heard that Finn was about to come back, he suddenly felt a wave of unease. He was so lost in thought that he didnโt even notice the cigarette burning his fingertips.
It wasnโt until Nora Sinclair walked in and smacked his hand away that he snapped back to reality.
โWayne, what are you doing? Why are you zoning out?โ Nora asked.
Nora asked the bodyguard she had sent out, and he told her everything.
Wayne replied, โIโm fine. What are you doing here?โ
Nora flopped down in a chair. โWhat, I canโt come? Seriously, youโre always so hesitant. If I were you, I wouldโve already made a move by now. But look at you, still acting like a clueless fool.โ
Wayne would have argued back, but this time, he just slumped down in defeat. He poured himself a glass of water and gulped it down.
โYouโre right.โ
He was always so hesitant, so scared. He was terrified that if he ever crossed that line, Sienna would hate him, cut him out of her life forever. She might even end up resenting him.
