Chapter 295

Marcus kept his face dark and said nothing. The whole mess had blown up all the way to the Ford mansion.

Marcus was always hypersensitive about being cheated on. Just the thought of being made a cuckold was something he couldnโ€™t accept.

Now that this had happened, the fact that Marcus hadnโ€™t already killed that bitch Bianca just showed how much self-control he still had.

โ€œHoney, I know I was wrong. I really do. I swear Iโ€™ll never do it again. Please, please donโ€™t divorce me. If you leave me, how am I supposed to go on living?โ€ Bianca pleaded, reaching out to grab his hand.

Marcus yanked his hand away at once. He glared at Bianca with utter disgust. โ€œYouโ€™ve got the nerve to say that? Bianca, how am I supposed to face anyone now? How am I supposed to show up in public?โ€

As he spoke, Marcus slapped himself hard across the face, the sound echoing through the room.

Yvonne flinched in fright, trembling as she shrank closer to her son.

Julian sat off to the side, leisurely sipping his coffee, looking completely unbothered because, honestly, it really wasnโ€™t any of his business anyway.

โ€œI donโ€™t agree to this divorce,โ€ said a voice.

At that moment, an old woman with gray hair walked out, steadying herself with a cane, while a graceful and refined young girl supported her by the arm.

โ€œMom, why are you stirring things up? Itโ€™s bad enough you dragged us all here, and now you want to run my life, too?โ€ Marcus snapped. He slammed his hand on the table in anger.

Lucia Ford swept her gaze over Bianca, who was still bowing, then fixed her eyes on Julian.

โ€œThe real troublemaker here is Julian,โ€ Lucia snapped. โ€œHe brought people here just to frame Bianca. I refuse to believe Bianca would ever do something like this.โ€

Lucia slammed her cane on the floor, full of menace.

โ€œMom, what does this have to do with Julian? If it werenโ€™t for him, I never wouldโ€™ve found out she was capable of something like this,โ€ Marcus shot back.

Luciaโ€™s voice turned icy. โ€œI donโ€™t care what you say. Iโ€™m not going to agree to this divorce. At your age, canโ€™t you just live out your days in peace? Why do you have to keep making a scene?โ€

Marcus shouted, โ€œIโ€™ve made up my mind. Weโ€™re getting a divorce. No one can stop me.โ€

He was a man โ€“ a man with dignity. It was already humiliating enough that his ex-wife had cheated on him, and now Bianca, too.

If this got out, his reputation would totally be ruined. Others would see him as a joke. He wouldnโ€™t hold his head up high again.

โ€œLetโ€™s put that aside for now,โ€ Lucia said, turning to Julian. โ€œJulian, why didnโ€™t you go meet Miss Clare? Do you have any idea how long she waited for you that day? What exactly are you trying to do?โ€

Julian cast a sidelong look at Lucia; his voice was calm, betraying no emotion. โ€œIโ€™ve already said it. I donโ€™t need you all worrying about my business.

โ€œIf youโ€™re so eager to arrange things, why donโ€™t you set up Levi instead?โ€

Lucia snapped, โ€œHow could you even suggest that? Heโ€™s your little brother. As the eldest, what have you been doing all these years?

โ€œYou donโ€™t act like the heir of the Ford family at all. Honestly, I donโ€™t think the future of the Ford family should be in your hands. Levi is the better choice, hands down.โ€

Lucia was relentless. Every word she spoke pressed down on him, leaving no room to breathe.

Marcus stayed quiet, his brow furrowed. Honestly, Julian was in the wrong for skipping out on the matchmaking meeting; leaving a girl hanging like that was just not right. Besides, it was time for Julian to get married.

Julian,โ€ Marcus said, โ€œwhy not just settle the marriage with Miss Clare already? She seems like a good catch.

โ€œYouโ€™re not getting any younger, you know. Itโ€™s about time you started planning for your future instead of wandering around all the time.โ€

Julian set his cup down and stood up. โ€œIโ€™ve already told you. My life is none of your business.

โ€œIf you all think a woman whoโ€™s been divorced three times and comes with kids is such a great match, then why donโ€™t you go marry her yourselves?โ€

With that, Julian turned to leave, but Levi called out loudly, โ€œJulian, are you refusing this marriage because of Miss Sienna from the Hart family?โ€
