Chapter 35
โMiss Enra, the resignation paperwork is prepared for your approval,โ she announced and then hesitated.
Sienna leaned back on the sofa, flipping through the documents without even glancing up. โGo on.โ
Reno gritted her teeth, barely holding back her anger. โThose snobs say they want their old boss back. If not, theyโre leaving too. Theyโre just trying to mess with you.โ
Sienna didnโt even blink. โLet them go. Approve them all.โ
Reno frowned. โBut Miss Enra, theyโre really going too far.โ
Sienna smirked. โLeaving is easy. Coming back? Not so simple.โ
Reno got what Sienna meant right away. She grabbed the files, her eyes lighting up. โMiss Enra, I got it. Iโll take care of it right now.โ Sienna nodded.
Sophie was seeing red. First, Vivian Hart had her brother hauled to the police station. Then her mother got hit with a public nuisance complaint after storming to the Hartsโ place. To top it all off, Aiden Hart dared to rip into her father over the phone.
So she called in every favor and severed all of Hart Corporationโs deals. She had expected the Harts to come begging by now, but there was nothing but deafening silence from their end.
A steady stream of partners flooded into Hart Corporation to cancel deals, yet Sienna didnโt even blink. She offered no last-ditch negotiations and made no desperate pleas, simply processing each termination with the same ease as assigning birthday cards.
The departing partners watched with bated breath, certain she would crumble as their exits piled up. To their astonishment, she turned the tables, leaving every one of them questioning their decision.
Sophie slammed her fist on the desk and yanked her assistant closer. โWhat? Hart Corporation wonโt back down? They would rather lose everything than give in? Check again! If theyโre really this stupid to challenge us, let them crash and burn!โ The terrified assistant scrambled away, trembling.
โMiss Quinn, forget Hart Corporation for now. Tonightโs what really matters. After all your effort in reaching Lana, this is our chance,โ her advisor urged in a low voice.
Sophieโs anger vanished in a flash, replaced by a sharp gleam in her eyes. โIf we can get SIE Corporation to partner directly with us, cutting out Quinn Group entirely, we wonโt be Junior Quinn anymore. Weโll replace them for good!โ
Sophieโs eyes burned with even greater ambition. โMake sure everything is perfect. They donโt know what weโre planning.โ Her command was met with instant, unquestioning compliance.
Hart Corporation was on its last legs after two-thirds of the staff had quit, yet Sienna sat perfectly still, completely unshaken.
Lana wouldโve been just as calm. Reno wasnโt like that. She paced like a caged animal, dying to know Siennaโs plan to turn things around. Finally, Sienna looked up. โReno,โ she said, her voice steady. โOut with it.โ
โMiss Enra, how can you stay so calm? Junior Quinn Group is coming for us. Let me handle them,โ Reno snapped.
Sienna let out a weary sigh. โAfter all your years in Meridia, you still havenโt learned patience.โ
Reno instantly deflated, fiddling with her fingers. โSorry, Miss Enra. I let you down.โ Then she glanced up cautiously, finding no anger in Siennaโs expression, so she straightened up again. โJust say the word. Whatโs our next move?โ
Sienna pushed the files away with a dismissive gesture. โWe wait. Thereโs still one key player missing.โ
Before Reno could ask, a knock came at the door. โMiss Reno, the CEO of Harold Group is here to discuss the partnership.โ Sienna smiled, as if everything was going exactly as planned.
Reno immediately understood and went to greet the guest. A young man with silver-dyed hair strode in, sizing her up with clear contempt.
Without waiting, he dropped into a chair, legs casually crossed. Picking at his teeth, he barely looked at her. โNo tea. The Harolds are done with the Haris.โ He slapped a document on the table. โSign this termination now.โ Clearly, he had mistaken Reno for Sienna, Hartโs new CEO.
Reno ignored him, calmly pouring tea instead. The man scowled. โHey, Iโm talking to you!โ
โIs this termination your fatherโs decision?โ A cold voice cut through the room. The man spun around and froze. His mouth went slack at the sight of Sienna.
Renoโs hand smashed down on the table. โMiss Enra is waiting for an answer.โ Her glare pinned him in place.
Chris Harold jolted back to reality, his face flushing with anger at the assistantโs audacity. โWhat difference does it make?โ he spat. โThe deal is over.โ
Sienna settled into her chair, taking a sip of the fragrant tea. โI donโt repeat myself,โ she said, her voice calm but edged with steel.
Reno leaned in, glaring. โAnswer, is this your fatherโs call!โ
A shadow of unease flickered across Chrisโs face, but then came the familiar arrogance. โOf course. As his son, I speak for him.โ
Siennaโs eyes darkened for a moment. โUnderstood,โ she said, her voice tinged with disappointment. Reno frowned, unable to comprehend Miss Enraโs patience with Harold Group.
Chris swaggered out with a smug grin. Hart Corporationโs last remaining partnership had just crumbled.
Reno slipped into the restroom to look up the Harold Groupโs history. They had been Hart Corporationโs founding partners since Siennaโs motherโs era.
While most of those early allies had cut ties over time, the Harold Group had stayed on. Now, with their business thriving, Reno couldnโt understand why they suddenly walked away.
Returning, Reno hesitated. โMiss Enra, should I approach Harold Group personally? Chris is just a figurehead. The real authority lies with his father.โ
Sienna picked up the contract, pausing at Charles Haroldโs name for a beat before sliding it into the files. โNo need,โ she stated evenly.
