Chapter 363
Hudson turned his head with a blank face, silently complaining in his heart, "Arenโt these two pictures exactly the same?"
โWhatโs the difference?" he thought.
He managed a smile. "The first one looks better.โ
Amber agreed, โI think so. But Iโll just keep both.โ
Hudson was speechless.
Amber had splurged on a pricey bracelet for Sienna. It was expensive, but when it came to Sienna, no price was too high.
Sheโd even picked out a menโs watch while she was at it.
Hudsonโs lips quirked up in a subtle smile. "Without a doubt, this watch must be for me," he thought to himself.
He deliberately leaned in close, coughed into his fist twice. โAhem.โ
Amber looked at him, puzzled. โThe waterโs over there.โ
โIโm not thirsty,โ Hudson said.
โAhem,โ he coughed again. Amber frowned and quickly stepped back, her face full of alarm. โIf youโre sick, go to the hospital. Donโt get me sick.โ
โYou!โ Hudson was both annoyed and exasperated, thinking to himself, "Amber, you little dummy."
He reached out and grabbed her cheek.
โWhap!โ Amber smacked his hand away, glaring at him. โWho said you could touch me? Donโt forget your role here.โ
Hudson let out a frustrated laugh. โAnd who am I supposed to be again?โ
Amber put her hands on her hips and lifted her chin. โYouโre the bodyguard I hired. Two hundred dollars a day! And you dare pinch my face? Iโm docking you one hundred.โ
Hudson was speechless. Two hundred? That wouldnโt even get you the worst bodyguard in our company, he thought.
With that, Amber grabbed the watch and headed back to her room. Tomorrow, Jaxon Palmer was coming to pick her up from the airport, and she figured she should have a gift ready for him.
This watch was just right.
Hudson trailed behind Amber, pulling her pink suitcase.
โAmber!โ Jaxon spotted Amber in her pink miniskirt and waved excitedly, jogging over to her.
The moment Hudson saw Jaxon, his face instantly clouded over.
โJaxon!โ Amber called out.
Jaxonโs cheeks turned bright red as he looked at Amber, then shyly brought out the bouquet of roses heโd been hiding.
โDid you have fun? These are for you,โ he said, offering her the flowers.
Amber felt a little embarrassed, and just as she was about to take the flowers, Hudson swooped in, grabbed the roses, and without a second thought, dumped them right into the trash.
Amberโs hand was left hanging awkwardly in midair, and both she and Jaxon froze, totally dumbfounded.
Hudson put on a straight face and said, โMiss Hart, didnโt you say you were allergic to roses?โ
Amber was fuming, shooting daggers at him. โHudson! When did I ever say I was allergic to roses? Are you crazy or what? Why the hell did you throw away myโฆโ
Jaxon looked pretty crushed too. Heโd spent forever picking those out.
He glanced up at Hudson, thinking. "Someone like Hudson would never be Amberโs bodyguard if it werenโt for Sienna. Heโs only doing this as a favor to her."
Amber was about to dive into the trash to grab them back when Hudson caught her wrist, his eyes flashing dangerously. His voice was sharp with annoyance.
โWhat are you doing? I can buy you another bouquet. Are you really going to dig through the trash? Amber, youโre the Hart familyโs heiress. If someone snaps a photo of you, youโll be all over the hot search tomorrow.โ
Amber instantly yanked her hand back. She definitely didnโt want to end up on the trending list.
"Butโฆ.those were the flowers Jason gave me," Amber thought, her heart twisting with reluctance.
Even though Amber was actually a little nervous inside, she still put on a proud front. โHudson, itโs all your fault for butting in. What, is your memory already going? Getting old or something?โ
Allergic? If he hadnโt tossed them, would I have to go fishing them out of the trash? she grumbled to herself, annoyed.
Jaxon stepped in to smooth things over. โItโs fine, itโs just a bouquet. Amber, Iโll buy you another one, okay? Come on, tell me all about the fun stuff that happened while you were abroad.โ
Amber said, โIt was so much fun. Oh, and I got you a gift too."
With that, Amber reached into the bag Hudson was holding and pulled out a box.
When Hudson saw it was a watch box, his hand suddenly tightened around the suitcase handle.
So she bought the watch for Jaxon! he realized, a wave of disappointment washing over him.
