Chapter 382
Amber clapped her hand over her mouth in shock. “What? It’s already been a month? But just yesterday you weren’t pregnant! Didn’t you only get pregnant today?”
Amber was so excited and surprised that she didn’t realize what she’d blurted out. The whole room burst out laughing, especially Reno, who clutched his stomach.
“Haha,” Reno chuckled. “You guys aren’t allowed to laugh! Stop laughing!” Amber’s face flushed crimson, flustered and mortified. She was completely at a loss.
Her brain struggled to catch up, then—smack!—she slapped her forehead. It suddenly dawned on her what she'd said. There’s no way anyone could know they’re pregnant the very next day after conceiving, she thought, mortified.
“You guys better not laugh. Hmph, I’m ignoring all of you now,” Amber huffed, still red-faced. Burning with embarrassment, she bolted into the house.
Meanwhile, Julian stayed close by, tending to Sienna carefully. “I’ve already hired three nannies who specialize in caring for pregnant women,” he said. “From now on, they’ll help with your meals.”
Sienna smiled faintly. “Whatever you say.”
“Sienna, I know I’m pushing my luck,” Julian said, taking her hand. “But for the whole next year, I want to stick to you like glue, never letting you out of my sight.”
Sienna smiled. “Alright, except for a few special circumstances.”
“Sure,” Julian nodded.
Meanwhile, Tanya was locked in a pitch-black room, crying for help, but everyone ignored her. She hadn’t even gotten a sip of water. Hearing the laughter outside, Tanya shouted at the top of her lungs, “Let me out! Let me out! I swear I’m innocent! I didn’t even touch Sienna! You can’t keep me locked up like this. It’s illegal! I’m going to call the cops!”
“Help! Let me out!”
Sienna stopped. Lana stepped forward, “Miss Enna, it’s Tanya, Paige’s daughter.”
At those words, Sienna recalled the moment she’d passed out. “Let her out,” Sienna said.
“Yes.”
When Tanya saw the door open, she was ecstatic and hurried over. “You’re finally here! Let me out already!”
“Come on, Miss Enna wants to see you.”
Tanya was pulled along, and when she spotted Sienna safe and sound, she grinned widely and giggled. “Oh my god, you’re okay! You’re really okay!” she blurted out.
But then Tanya quickly backed up. “I swear I didn’t push you. Sienna, you can’t blame me! You were trying to set me up.”
Sienna’s icy gaze landed on her. “Weren’t you about to push me?”
Tanya’s eyes darted away, guilt evident on her face. She stammered, “Anyway, this has nothing to do with me anymore, so can I go now?”
“Tanya,” Sienna said, “your mother asked if you could stay at the Hart residence. You seemed to enjoy yourself, so I’ve decided to let you stay.”
As soon as Sienna said that, Tanya went white, totally freaked out. “No way! I don’t want to stay at your place! My mom’s not right in the head. She’s got some kind of crazy illness and always talks nonsense. I’m leaving! I’m leaving right now!” Tanya shouted.
Tanya dashed from the Hart residence in a panic, as if someone terrifying were chasing her. She glanced nervously over her shoulder, only slowing down when she saw no one was following.
