Alexander chuckled, his eyes hostile as he glanced at Joseph. โA good match? I donโt think so.โ
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow and clung to Josephโs arm. โMr. Tudor, take another look.โ
Alexander squinted. โWhatโs Elizabeth up to? Testing my patience?โ
โWhatโs not a good match?โ Elizabeth leaned closer to Joseph, becoming more affectionate. Alexanderโs brow furrowed deeper. Esme sensed his displeasure and gently held his hand. Alexanderโs gaze stayed on Elizabeth, looking menacing. Elizabeth remained indifferent, her expression growing colder with a hint of provocation.
Alexander suddenly raised an eyebrow and smiled calmly. โMs. Percy, as long as you like it, who cares what others think?โ
Elizabeth nodded. โMr. Tudor, thatโs spot on.โ She turned to Joseph with sparkling eyes. โJoseph, I know a great restaurant. Shall we go?โ Her sweet demeanor seemed genuine, just like when she looked at Alexander before, which only irritated him more.
โSure,โ Joseph nodded and got into the car with Elizabeth. Joseph closed the car door for her, then looked at Alexander and Esme. โDo as you like. Weโre off.โ
Alexander clenched his fists, watching the car drive away. Damn it!
โAlexander,โ Esme called softly. โIโve booked a restaurant. Letโs go.โ He sounded irritable as he got into the car.
Esme felt increasingly dissatisfied. Wasnโt it clear Alexander still cared about Elizabeth?
โMy father said you visited him today,โ Joseph chatted with Elizabeth. Elizabeth was browsing entertainment news; their popularity was still high.
โYeah, just went to see him,โ Elizabeth replied.
Joseph smiled. โHe has a very good impression of you.โ
โLike him, too. Both you and your father are gentle and elegant. I really like emotionally stable men,โ Elizabeth smiled, putting down her phone.
โIdeally, there shouldnโt be any unexpected events, right?โ Elizabeth suddenly felt uneasy. No matter who she had dinner with, something unexpected always happened.
Chapter 204
โShouldnโt be,โ Joseph put his phone on silent mode.
Elizabeth nodded, relieved.
They arrived at a new private restaurant in the city center, on the 39th floor. It felt cozy and had only two uniquely designed private rooms. The waiter began serving dishes as they entered. Elizabethโs seat faced the door. Two people entered another private room.
โIs it fully booked today?โ Joseph asked.
The waiter nodded. โYes, Mr. Stewart.โ She glanced at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth noticed and looked outside again.
โMr. Stewart, Ms. Percy, all your dishes are served. Enjoy your meal.โ The waiter closed the door.
โLetโs dig in,โ Elizabeth smiled.
โPlease, go ahead,โ Joseph gestured.
