Unrepairable Love Chapter 212
Elizabeth came home with a bunch of snacks one night. Declan, sipping tea, watched her munching on chips in her pajamas. He was a bit surprised; it was rare to see her so relaxed.
โWhatโs up?โ Declan squinted. โGot some good news?โ
Elizabeth wanted to tell him she was divorcing Alexander tomorrow, but decided to wait until it was official. She didnโt want to get everyoneโs hopes up again. She had never been this eager to get divorced. It felt almost crazy.
โNothing much,โ she said, sitting down and continuing to eat her chips. โJust learned some new surgery skills with Ms. Carter today. Feeling pretty good.โ
Declan squinted, clicked his tongue, and ignored her. Elizabeth couldnโt hide her happiness and smiled.
After finishing her snacks, she went upstairs to shower. Before bed, she realized she hadnโt seen her driving license in a while. She last used it when she tried to file for divorce but hadnโt needed it since. She opened a drawer full of documents but couldnโt find it. Puzzled, she squatted down, thinking hard. Where did she put it? The more she thought about it, the more confused she got. She decided to sleep on it, hoping it might turn up if she stopped looking.
The next morning, her alarm woke her up. After getting ready, she resumed searching for her driving license. As eight oโclock approached, she started to panic. It seemed to be missing.
Rose came upstairs to call her for breakfast and was stunned by the mess in the room.
โMom, help me,โ Elizabeth pleaded. โHave you seen my driving license?โ
Rose shook her head. โNo, I havenโt!โ
Elizabeth bit her lip, frustrated. โWhere did it go?โ Rose leaned on the sofa, watching her daughter search frantically.
โMom, donโt just watch, help me look,โ Elizabeth said, exasperated.
โWhy do you need it? If itโs not urgent, just get a replacement. Stop stressing,โ Rose replied, not moving.
โI need it to file for divorce,โ Elizabeth said, sitting on the bed, looking vacant.
Roseโs eyes lit up. โIโll help you look!โ
Chapter 212
Elizabeth wondered if she should tell Declan and Grant. It might be faster if everyone helped. Her phone rang. It was Alexander.
Alexander: [Iโm at the door.]
Elizabeth: [Hold on, Iโm looking for my driving license.]
Alexander: [Did you lose it?]
Elizabeth: [Not sure yet.]
Alexander: [Okay, no rush.]
She sighed. If she didnโt file for divorce today, Lila would laugh at her.
After more than ten minutes, Elizabeth and Rose sat on the floor, defeated.
Rose suggested, โMaybe we really canโt find it. Why not just get a replacement? Itโs only a day or two.โ
Elizabeth noticed Alexander was unusually calm, not rushing her at all.
โIโm going to work first,โ she said, grabbing her bag and leaving.
Rose continued searching for a while.
