Unrepairable Love Chapter 226

Joseph finished talking and shot a look at Alexander, who stared back expressionlessly. If looks could kill, Joseph thought heโ€™d be a goner. Joseph smirked and left, feeling satisfied. As the door closed, Alexanderโ€™s fist clenched.

โ€œNot leaving?โ€ Elizabeth asked from beside him.

Alexander glanced at her and laughed. โ€œElizabeth, I brought you dinner. Havenโ€™t even sat for five minutes, and youโ€™re kicking meโ€”โ€ But she didnโ€™t seem to mind Joseph leaving! Elizabethโ€™s mood swings were too quick!

Elizabeth checked her phone and mumbled, โ€œItโ€™s been more than five minutes.โ€ Alexander went silent. He glared at her fiercely.

Elizabeth pouted. โ€œAlright.โ€ She pointed to the chair, softening her tone, โ€œMr. Tudor, please sit.โ€ Alexander was fuming.

โ€œMom said I should watch you eat before I leave!โ€ He opened the lunchbox on the bedside table. He eyed what Joseph had brought and said, โ€œYouโ€™re in the hospital; you canโ€™t eat this junk.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s not junk!โ€ Elizabeth shot back. Alexanderโ€™s eyes narrowed at her, as if threatening her to dare defend Joseph again.

Elizabeth pursed her lips and gave a sheepish smile. โ€œItโ€™s Mr. Stewartโ€™s kind gesture.โ€

โ€œKind gesture? More like ulterior motives!โ€ Alexander said through gritted teeth.

โ€œIs that normal? Iโ€™m about to get divorced, and Iโ€™m not allowed to have someone else interested in me?โ€ Elizabeth reached for the utensils, but Alexander slapped her hand away. Elizabeth pulled back, confused. Alexanderโ€™s eyes were filled with unspoken resentment.

Elizabeth sighed and leaned back, not moving. โ€œElizabeth,โ€ he warned, โ€œuntil our divorce is official, keep your distance from Joseph.โ€

Elizabethโ€™s eyes widened. โ€œWhy?โ€

โ€œIt makes me feel awkward,โ€ he said coldly.

Elizabeth frowned. โ€œAnd you and Esme aloneโ€ฆ I make you feel awkward?โ€

โ€œWhen have you ever seen me act like that with Esme?โ€ he shouted.

Elizabeth was taken aback. Act like what? He put down the utensils and leaned closer, his palm on the headboard, eyes full of sarcasm. โ€œA man and a woman chasing each other around a fountainโ€”you two were really sweet!โ€

Elizabeth fell silent. She explained, โ€œThat was just normal social interaction between friends. The atmosphere was right, so weโ€ฆโ€

Alexander leaned in again, cutting her off. โ€œYouโ€™re still making excuses?โ€

Elizabeth looked at his handsome face, then his eyes. โ€œIโ€™m not making excuses,โ€ she answered seriously.

โ€œElizabeth,โ€ he called her name, voice low and hoarse, filled with unspoken emotions. She looked into his eyes and calmly asked, โ€œDo you care?โ€

Alexander paused. Elizabeth pursed her lips and asked again, โ€œDo you care that Iโ€™m with Joseph?โ€ His eyelashes visibly trembled. Elizabeth noticed.

She smiled and asked, โ€œYouโ€™ve been acting very strange lately, do you know that?โ€ Alexander seemed caught off guard, suddenly flustered, his gaze evasive.

Elizabeth grabbed his collar, making him look at her. When he looked up again, his eyes were deep, hard to read.

โ€œAlexander,โ€ she called his name seriously, her eyes hinting at sarcasm. She joked, โ€œHave you fallen in love with me?โ€

Alexander was completely taken aback. He removed her hand, but she grabbed him again, insisting he look at her. โ€œAnswer my question!โ€ Elizabeth demanded.

A complex expression grew on Alexanderโ€™s face. He looked at her, feeling as if part of his heart had been punched. Had he fallen in love with Elizabeth? He couldnโ€™t even answer that himself.
