Chapter 333
Alexanderโs face twisted in disbelief. He thought, Elizabeth got snatched? In broad daylight? Whoโs got the guts for that?
โWhich stationโs handling it?โ he asked.
โThe main one,โ Laura said.
He thanked her and hung up. The elevator doors slid open. He stormed out, Nolan hot on his heels. โMr. Tudor, Iโm coming with you.โ
Alexander shot him a look. โWhy no phone on you?โ
Nolan looked sheepish. โIt died, sir. Iโฆโ
Alexander didnโt respond, just jumped into the car, and they sped off.
Nolan stayed behind, sighing. โHope Elizabethโs okay. If not, Alexanderโs gotta be freaking out, right?โ
At the police station, Alexander walked in, spotting Rose in the lobby, tears in her eyes. She looked shocked to see him. He approached, unsure what to call her. After a beat, he said, โAunt Rose. Rose. You here for Elizabeth?โ
Rose, despite her dislike for Alexander, nodded. โYes.โ
โTheyโre in there,โ she pointed to a conference room.
Alexander nodded. He almost patted her shoulder but thought better of it and headed to the room. Rose watched him go, feeling conflicted. Sheโd seen Alexander grow up, always close to Celine and Lily. He was perfect in every way, except for not loving Elizabeth. If he could be the Percy familyโs son-in-law, sheโd be thrilled. But love made him a jerk.
She lowered her head. As a mom, no matter how great Alexander was, she didnโt want Elizabeth hurt again.
Inside the conference room, everyone stood up, except Declan. They nodded. โMr. Tudor.โ
Alexander nodded at Declan, who returned a cold stare with no warmth.
โUncle Declan,โ Alexander said.
Declan looked away.
Chapter 333
โMr. Tudor, here about Ms. Percy?โ Chief Ian Phillips asked.
Alexander nodded. โWhatโs the deal? I just heard.โ
Ian explained, โShe was grabbed at the residential complex entrance. Surveillance shows she vanished at this intersection.โ Alexander looked at the screen. Ian added, โWeโve searched all directions.โ
โHow long since the cops got involved?โ Alexander asked.
โAn hour,โ Ian said.
โNothing?โ Alexanderโs voice was tense.
Ian wiped his brow. Lisbun was huge, and the kidnapper left no clues.
Declan slammed his cup on the table. Alexander glanced over; Declan was losing it.
โMs. Percy tick anyone off lately?โ Ian asked Declan.
Declan snapped, โThe one she pissed off is right here!โ
Ian and Alexander exchanged looks.
Alexander said, โUncle Declan, I wouldnโt have her kidnapped.โ
Declan, fuming, stood up. โThen think! Who else would she offend? Elizabethโs always kind; sheโd only piss someone off because of you!โ
Alexanderโs eyes darkened. He suddenly thought of someone.
