Chapter 374
โYo, Mr. Tudor, if youโre cool with giving it up, Iโd be super grateful,โ Elizabeth grinned, trying to keep it real. โBut if Alexander wasnโt down, she wasnโt gonna push it.โ
Just a necklace, Alexander raised an eyebrow, took a sip of his drink, and said all chipper, โMs. Percy, what you got to offer in return?โ
โOffer? Iโll just buy it off you,โ Elizabeth shrugged. โDouble what you paid, deal?โ
Felix glanced between Elizabeth and Alexander, feeling kinda uneasy. Even if they werenโt a couple, theyโd still be a power duo. Alexander was already a tough cookie, and Elizabeth? She was even tougher now, not giving a damn about anyone else.
โTalking money is so tacky,โ Alexander sighed.
Elizabeth rolled her eyes. โMr. Tudor, just hit me up when youโre ready to part with it. Itโs late, so Iโm out. Later!โ
She was about to bounce.
Alexander piped up, โElizabeth, I did save your butt, remember? My armโs still messed up.โ
Elizabeth paused, her eyes blinking. โLike I havenโt saved him before? Whatโs he trying to prove? And his arm? Not my fault,โ she thought.
Keeping her cool, she looked at him and said, โI said I didnโt need help. You did it anyway. Your call, your mess. I donโt owe you anything.โ
She smiled, gave a nod, and turned to leave. Her words cut deep, like a knife straight to Alexanderโs heart. Cold as ice. The door slammed shut. Alexander clenched his cup, then let out a bitter laugh.
Chapter 374
โMr. Tudor,โ Nolan walked in, speaking softly.
Alexander looked up, eyes tired. โWhatโs up?โ
โOur deal with Louis is off,โ Nolan said, head down.
Alexander nodded. โAlright. Get the stuff we won at the auction and letโs bounce.โ
He stood up, ready to leave.
Nolan asked, โMr. Tudor, arenโt you gonna eat? You barely touched your food.โ
โNot feeling it,โ he said flatly.
Nolan glanced at the table. Only Elizabethโs plate was clean. Alexanderโs barely touched.
โWhatโs up with Louis?โ Alexander asked.
Nolan quickly caught up. โLouis didnโt call the cops. Itโs settled. But heโs not doing great; heโs in the hospital.โ
Alexander frowned, thinking, โNot doing great? Is Louis hurt?โ
โMs. Percy messed him up, but I handled it. Louis wonโt be a problem for her,โ Nolan said.
Alexander chuckled. Elizabeth had definitely toughened up after leaving him. She had the guts to go solo in a foreign country and even take on someone like Louis. Elizabeth always acted first, thought later.
โBook the next flight home,โ Alexander ordered, wiping his fingers.
โGot it,โ Nolan nodded.
On the plane, Elizabeth and Felix sat one behind the other. Elizabeth sighed, โAll that hassle for nothing.โ
โBoss, itโs my bad. Iโll take the heat,โ Felix said, looking guilty.
Elizabeth pinched the bridge of her nose, eyes closed, feeling drained. Suddenly, a familiar voice hit her ears, โAlright, Iโll call you when we land.โ
