โ€œHe totally brought it on himself!โ€ Rose snorted.

Declan agreed but still gave her a hard time. โ€œItโ€™s enough to think it; why say it out loud?โ€

Grant coughed, and Rose rushed over, asking, โ€œDad, you feeling okay?โ€ Grant had been sick for a few days. โ€œThis,โ€ Rose tried to comfort him, โ€œwe probably need to get him home. Keeping him here isnโ€™t the best idea.โ€

โ€œDad, go home first.โ€ Declan

Grant shook his head but then coughed again. Rose felt really bad for him.

Grant and Celine had always been super close. Even though Celine was usually serious, Grant didnโ€™t mind being managed by her.

โ€œDonโ€™t rush me home. How can I relax if Celine doesnโ€™t wake up?โ€ Grant held Celineโ€™s hand again.

Rose had no choice but to give up. Grant wouldnโ€™t feel at ease staying home alone either. They were all here, so nothing major would happen.

โ€œWhere did Elizabeth go? She vanished right after Celine came out. This kid is getting more and more willful,โ€ Declan complained.

โ€œMaybe she canโ€™t handle the bad news. Elizabethโ€™s under a lot of pressure; try to understand,โ€ Rose said, giving Declan a look.

Just then, the door opened. It was Elizabeth.

Elizabeth had taken a nap at Base M and just woken up. She changed her clothes and washed her face before coming over. She had cried a lot in the morning, and her eyes were still swollen and red.

Declan wanted to scold her, but seeing her so sad, he held back.

Elizabeth walked over to Grant, patted him on the shoulder, and said, โ€œGrandpa, go home and rest.โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Grant stubbornly refused.

Elizabeth ignored him and said to Declan and Rose, โ€œMom, Dad, you both have worked hard. Take Grandpa home, and you can come back to relieve me tomorrow.โ€

Celine might not wake up for a while. โ€œOkay.โ€ Declan was the first to nod in agreement.

Elizabeth pulled Grant up and said, โ€œGrandpa, be good. Iโ€™ll stay with Grandma; nothing will happen. Iโ€™ll call someone to bring you over as soon as she wakes up.โ€

Declan sighed and also persuaded, โ€œYes, Dad, if something happens to your health, what will we do when Mom wakes up? Be good.โ€

Hearing this, Grant couldnโ€™t hold back his tears again.

Elizabeth said with a heavy heart, โ€œGrandpa, Grandma will be fine! Itโ€™s just an arm; it wonโ€™t affect her. Why are you crying?โ€

Grant turned around silently and left.

After saying that, Elizabeth felt a pang of pain. After sending them off, Elizabeth tidied up the messy things in the ward, making it look much cleaner.

She took out her own set of tools, wanting to try acupuncture on Celine again. It was already late at night. Her phone buzzed with the latest news from Lisbun.

Outside the ward, she heard the footsteps of a few nurses, accompanied by a few words. โ€œMr. Tudor hasnโ€™t woken up yet?โ€

Someone replied, โ€œEveryone thought Mr. Tudor just had a fever, but actually, he has an injury. It seems he got cut when boarding the ship, and the wound kept getting wet, causing repeated infections.โ€

Elizabeth glanced at the door and then continued to give her grandma acupuncture.

The voices of the two nurses gradually faded until they couldnโ€™t be heard anymore. Elizabeth couldnโ€™t help but recall what they had just said: โ€œHe has an injury.โ€
