Chapter 521
Alexander snapped, โGet out!โ
Kieran said, โEven if you want me gone, I gotta say it, Alexander. You should go after Elizabeth now. Wait too long, and youโll lose her.โ
Alexanderโs frown deepened. โGet out!โ he shouted again. The hospital room door slammed shut, leaving an eerie silence.
โElizabeth and Sheldon are teaming up,โ Alexander mused. Ever since the divorce, Elizabeth always had some new guy around. Alexander couldnโt shake the unease. After mulling it over, he called Nolan. โGet me out of here tomorrow morning.โ
Nolan protested, โThatโs not possible, Mr. Tudor. The doctor said you need more observation!โ
โIโm fine,โ Alexander insisted. โIโm not that fragile.โ
Nolanโs silence spoke volumes.
โIf youโre too busy, Iโll handle it myself,โ Alexander added.
Nolan sighed. โAlright, Mr. Tudor.โ
Alexander tossed his phone aside. Staying here any longer was a bad idea. Too much to do once he got out.
As he pondered, a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. โWho could it be this late?โ he wondered.
โCome in,โ he called out, his voice muffled.
The door creaked open, but no one appeared. He couldnโt see the doorway, so he asked, โWhoโs there?โ
The sound of high heels clicked closer. Alexanderโs face darkened. He knew who it was.
Esme walked in slowly, wearing a white dress with a coat draped over her shoulders, her curly hair cascading down, eyes red. She held flowers in one hand and a bag of fruit in the other, approaching cautiously.
โAlexander,โ she said softly.
โYouโre not welcome here,โ he replied coldly.
โPlease, Alexander, donโt be mad. I didnโt mean to,โ Esme pleaded, tears streaming down her face.
โRight, you didnโt mean to. You planned it all along! You deceived me for three years, pretending to be Elizabeth. Thatโs a crime!โ His expression was icy.
Esmeโs heart ached, her lip trembling. โAlexander, my love for you was just too intense. Blame me for pretending to be Elizabeth, but my love for you is real.โ She stepped closer, tears falling, her voice choked with emotion.
Alexander sneered, sarcasm in his eyes. โMs. Russell, love requires honesty.โ
Esme was at a loss for words.
