Chapter 590

Elizabeth glanced at Ivan, mulling over the question seriously. โ€œIโ€™m not scared,โ€ she finally said. Before she married Alexander, she had fought her way out of Base M. What was there to fear about a blood-soaked Ivan?

Elizabeth thought to herself, What am I really afraid of? I used to be terrified that Alexander didnโ€™t love me and wouldnโ€™t marry me. Now, what I fear most is something happening to my family and he not being happy.

โ€œYeah, you gotta get hurt a few times to grow,โ€ she mused.

โ€œThatโ€™s why I like you even more,โ€ Ivan whispered in her ear.

Elizabeth grinned. โ€œBut Ivan, Iโ€™m Alexanderโ€™s ex-wife.โ€

โ€œSo what?โ€ he shot back.

โ€œDonโ€™t you care about your friendship?โ€ she asked, curious.

โ€œOf course I do, but I can balance them,โ€ Ivan said.

But Elizabeth didnโ€™t buy it. If Ivan wanted to chase her, he had to be ready to go head-to-head with Alexander. Alexander wasnโ€™t exactly known for his forgiving nature.

โ€œLetโ€™s just watch the movie,โ€ Elizabeth said with a smile, wanting to drop the subject.

Ivan nodded, and they turned their attention to the screen. The comedy was light-hearted, and Elizabeth found herself laughing at the funny scenes. She realized she hadnโ€™t felt this relaxed in ages. These past years, she had really messed up her life. If you asked her now if she wanted to go back to those days, her answer would be a hard no.

As they laughed at the funny scenes, they exchanged smiles and chatted about the plot. But Elizabeth noticed someone seemed to be kicking her chair from behind. Every time she leaned closer to Ivan, her chair got kicked.

At first, she thought it was just a kid behind her and didnโ€™t pay much attention. But when she and Ivan started talking about the plot again, and Ivanโ€™s chair got kicked too, they both turned around. Just as she was about to tell the person to stop, the screen lit up, revealing the annoyed face of the person behind them.

Elizabeth was speechless. Ivan frowned. โ€œAlexander?โ€ Wasnโ€™t Alexander supposed to be here? They hadnโ€™t even noticed him come in.

Alexanderโ€™s face was blank. He had not only come in but had also been watching them for a while. The comedy was hilarious; the whole audience was laughing, except for him.

โ€œIs this film interesting?โ€ he suddenly asked.

Elizabeth and Ivan exchanged a look. Ivan smiled. โ€œYeah, itโ€™s pretty good.โ€

โ€œI see you two are having a great time,โ€ Alexander said.

Elizabeth quickly added, โ€œYou also kick the chair quite a lot.โ€

Alexander didnโ€™t just kick the chair frequently; every time Elizabeth smiled at Ivan, he got super pissed! He really wanted to drag them to the back.

โ€œAlexander, letโ€™s just watch the movie peacefully, donโ€™t make a scene,โ€ Ivan said.

Alexanderโ€™s face grew even more annoyed. Elizabeth ignored him and kept watching the movie.

โ€œIvan, letโ€™s switch seats,โ€ Alexander said in a low voice.

Ivan was puzzled. โ€œWhy would I do that?โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t argue. This is a movie theater,โ€ Elizabeth reminded them. โ€œIf you want to chat, go outside.โ€

Alexander was fuming. Who was chatting with Ivan?
