Chapter 65

Elizabethโ€™s words hit the room like a bomb, sparking instant outrage. Lily loved it: โ€œNo way itโ€™s fake!โ€

Thabethโ€™s talking nonsense, right? That gift from the Rowellsโ€ฆ Exxth! Saffron before. Who are you to say itโ€™s fake!

โ€œRumor has it sheโ€™s divorcing Alexander. Maybe sheโ€™s just here to cause trouble out of spite?โ€

โ€œYeah, sheโ€™s totally here toโ€ฆ in the partyโ€ฆโ€

The accusations and insults made Elizabeth clench her fists. Lilyโ€™s brow furrowed; she couldnโ€™t afford any drama at her birthday bash, especially with all these high-profile guests and the event being livestreamed. Any slip-up would be a public spectacle.

Unbeknownst to Lily, the internet was already buzzing about the saffron.

[Esmeโ€™s gift is a fake? || Could it really be a counterfeit? Is the Russell familyโ€™s saffron legit or not?]

Elizabeth glared at Lily, fuming inside. Sure, she was divorcing Alexander, but she wasnโ€™t petty enough to crash the party. She took a deep breath and said softly to Lily, โ€œGrandma, Esmeโ€™s saffron is definitely fake.โ€

Elara rushed over, grabbing Elizabethโ€™s arm with a frown. How could Elizabeth call out Esmeโ€™s gift in front of everyone? Moments ago, the crowd was thrilled about the rare saffron, and now it was supposedly fake? If it was, the Russell family was deliberately embarrassing Lily.

Sensing trouble, Kieran quickly called Alexander. โ€œWhere are you? Why arenโ€™t you at Grandmaโ€™s party yet? You need to get here nowโ€”your wife and Esme are about to throw down!โ€

Esme, seeing the crowd siding with her, decided to deny everything. No one had seen this rare saffron before, so she could insist it was real. โ€œMy gift isnโ€™t fake! Elizabeth, youโ€™re just jealous because Iโ€™m close to Alexander, and youโ€™re trying to slander me!โ€ Esme retorted, arms crossed and chin up. โ€œIf you say mineโ€™s fake, then show us a real one!โ€

Elara tugged at Elizabeth. โ€œYou donโ€™t need to compete with Esme. Even if you canโ€™t produce this rare saffron, we still love you. The Tudor family wonโ€™tโ€”โ€

Elizabeth knew Elara worried sheโ€™d be humiliated. But she had it covered. โ€œMom, do you think Iโ€™m joking?โ€ Elizabeth looked at Elara, who froze. Did Elizabeth really have the rare saffron?

โ€œThe Russell family is one of the big four. What does the Perry family have? No way she got that rare saffron!โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t buy it!โ€

Elizabeth pulled out her phone and dialed a number, her eyes locked on Esme. โ€œTelix, bring my gift.โ€

She hung up, a confident smile on her face. Elara and Lily exchanged glances as Felix walked in. Dressed in a black suit, white gloves, and carrying a box draped in black velvet, he commanded the roomโ€™s attention. Everyone held their breath, stunned.

Elizabeth really had the saffron? Even Esme straightened up, realizing she had to take this seriously.
