Elizabeth hadn’t fought in a long time, and without her silver needles, she couldn’t deliver a fatal blow. She had no choice but to try to seize the dagger from Vincent’s hand. Vincent had the upper hand and threatened, “Elizabeth, you’d better pretend you saw nothing, or I’ll take your life first!”

Elizabeth walked into the bathroom and placed the “Cleaning in Progress” sign at the door. She washed the blood off her hands, then took off her clothes and put them back on inside out. The clothes were covered in blood; it wouldn’t be good if someone saw her like this.

Her phone rang.

Felix: [Miss, the Russell Family arranged a job for Esme. It seems like Esme is trying to start a new life.]

Elizabeth squinted. A new life? After all the evil things Esme had done, it was just going to be forgotten? Esme was so vicious, she wouldn’t even spare Lily! Lily was over seventy years old; how many more years did she have left? Couldn’t Esme go after Alexander instead? Esme was truly despicable!

Elizabeth: [What job?]

Felix: [They arranged for Esme to join Henry’s company. Henry is keeping an eye on her.]

Elizabeth: [She’s useless.]

Felix: [I made a move. I sent Esme a threatening message last night. She cared so much she blocked my number.]

Elizabeth remained expressionless, finding Felix childish. Only kids played with threatening messages. As for what adults should do, Elizabeth looked at the bright red blood in the sink, her face growing colder. Using a knife was the way to go!

Elizabeth turned off her phone and then turned around, seeing a cleaning staff member standing outside. She asked, “Are you okay?”

Elizabeth lowered her eyes; the blood in the sink had already been washed away. Elizabeth nodded. “I’m fine. I don’t know what happened with this sign. It was here when I came out.”

Maybe I forgot to take it away. I went to check out the commotion by the emergency exit just now,” the cleaning staff member said with an embarrassed smile.

Elizabeth pursed her lips and couldn’t help but ask, “What happened at the emergency exit?”

“A young guy, not sure if he offended someone, got stabbed!”

“Did anyone call the police?” Elizabeth asked the cleaning staff member.

The cleaning staff member paused for a moment and said, “I think someone did.”

Elizabeth nodded and said nothing more. As she walked out, she sent a message to Oliver, asking him to delete all surveillance footage related to her. At the same time, she headed to Base M.

When Elizabeth entered, she saw Callum. Callum, 20 years old, a core member of Base M, a jack-of-all-trades, was the only one who got into Lisbun University.

“Long time no see,” Callum said as soon as he saw Elizabeth.

Elizabeth said, “No need to investigate that person anymore. I found him.”

“You did?” Callum was stunned. His first task after returning to Base M had just started and was already over! Damn it!

“It was Esme’s follower, Vincent.” As she said this, Felix and Oliver also came out of the nearby lounge.

Felix was surprised. “Is Esme crazy? She actually wants to kill Lily?”

Elizabeth nodded, took a sip of water, and asked Oliver, “Did you clean up all the surveillance?”

“Miss, you can trust me,” Oliver said with a grin, giving Elizabeth a thumbs-up. “Miss, you’re amazing.”

Especially when she came out of the emergency exit, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth with one hand. She looked both cool and badass.

Now, Alexander really couldn’t measure up to Elizabeth!
