Chapter 755

Lila texted, "I'll be waiting for you at the Rose Restaurant. If you don’t come, I won’t leave!"

Elizabeth listened, immediately thinking of Alexander. Then another text: "I'll be waiting for you at the Emerald Skyscraper. If you don’t come, I won’t leave."

Elizabeth remained silent, finally nodded, and hung up the phone.

The Rose Restaurant was located in the center of New York City, on the sixty-sixth floor, very high up. As soon as Elizabeth entered, a waiter approached and took her coat. She saw Lila sitting by the window, taking pictures. Lila, being a superstar, looked stunning even from a distance. This kind of restaurant usually only attracted well-known and influential people, so Lila didn’t bother to disguise herself. When she saw Elizabeth, she quickly waved.

Elizabeth was wearing a white fuzzy sweater, her black hair cascading down her back, and a black short skirt that showed off her beautiful legs. The man sitting nearby glanced several times at Elizabeth and Lila. One was Elizabeth, the other a superstar; it was hard not to look.

“Long time no see, Lila,” Elizabeth teased.

Lila snorted, “You know it’s been a long time, and you still refused me just now?”

“I’ve been busy,” Elizabeth took a sip of water.

“You’re just busy with nonsense,” Lila said discontentedly, “You haven’t messaged me for days. I’m mad!”

“Tell me, who have you been with lately?” Lila’s tone was interrogative.

Elizabeth blinked, “What do you want to hear? That I’ve been with Alexander?”

Lila squinted. Was Elizabeth really with Alexander?

“I’d be crazy to be with him,” Elizabeth snorted coldly, “I’ve been busy with the research institute lately, and the rest of the time I’ve been running around for the elders of both families.”

Lila was puzzled, “Both families’ elders?”

“Lily was harmed and is now lying in the hospital. She has a bad heart, so I thought I could help if I could,” Elizabeth answered truthfully.

Lila sighed and soon started scolding. Elizabeth knew Lila would.

“You still care about the Tudi family’s business! Elizabeth, at times you're tired,”

“You said you and Alexander have parted ways and owe each other nothing, yet you still care about the Tudor family’s business! Either cut it off cleanly, or just go back to Alexander!” Lila’s words didn’t seem harsh at first, but upon closer inspection, they were quite harsh. Telling Elizabeth to go back to Alexander was basically calling her pathetic.

“I know my limits,” Elizabeth said.

Lila shook her head, looking as if Elizabeth was not clear-headed. If Alexander showed weakness and tried to please her, Elizabeth might get confused and go back to him.

“Elizabeth, I’m your friend. I need to remind you that emotions can drag you down! You and Alexander have been together for so many years, the chances of you getting back together are high. If you don’t want to get hurt again, stay away from him.”

Elizabeth held her cup, looking down without speaking. Lila was a very clear-headed person, and Elizabeth had no secrets from her.

“Alexander is a bad man! He loves you now only because you left him and he’s not used to it! Once he gets you back, he’ll discard you again!”

Lila’s scolding grew harsher, and her voice got louder. The man who had been eyeing them turned his head away, not daring to look anymore. Unbeknownst to them, a pair of eyes behind them grew hotter, deeper, and finally, displeased.

“Alexander, calm down,” Kieran quietly pressed down on Alexander’s hand.
