Chapter 768

The Tudor Villa.

After Kieran dropped Lila off at home, he drove to Alexanderโ€™s place because he saw the note. โ€œHospital, Esmeโ€™s follower Vincent,โ€ it read. What did this note mean? It had something to do with the hospital; could it be related to Alexanderโ€™s grandmother? So, he went straight to the Tudor Villa.

When Alexander opened the door, he looked quite annoyed. His eyes were a bit red, and he seemed very tired, clearly having not slept for a long time. He poured a glass of water and handed it to Kieran. โ€œStaying up late, arenโ€™t you afraid of sudden death?โ€

Kieran sneered, โ€œYou should save that line for yourself.โ€

Alexander clicked his tongue, then threw himself onto the couch, picked up a glass of wine from the coffee table, and took a sip. โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

It was only then that Kieran noticed the living room was a mess, with wine bottles and glasses everywhere. How did Alexander let himself get into this state?

โ€œJust checking if youโ€™re still alive,โ€ Kieran joked.

Alexander retorted, โ€œYouโ€™ll die before I do.โ€

Kieran was indifferent. He lazily smiled and remarked, โ€œA home really canโ€™t go a day without a lady, huh? Without Elizabeth, your life seems pretty rough?โ€ Kieran picked up an empty wine bottle from the coffee table. โ€œDrinking such good wine all by yourself?โ€

Alexander shot a cold glance at Kieran. He was really annoying.

โ€œI havenโ€™t been to your place in a while. Has anything changed?โ€ Kieran wandered around and finally stopped in front of the couch.

Alexander remained calm. Just as Kieran said, without a lady, things had changed.

โ€œSeems like it.โ€ Kieranโ€™s gaze landed on a painting on the wall. Kieran raised his hand and pointed at the painting, curling his lips. โ€œThatโ€™s not the original painting.โ€

Only then did Alexander look over. Yeah, it wasnโ€™t the one Elizabeth painted. It was a clumsy attempt by Alexander. The more he tried to imitate Elizabethโ€™s painting, the more mistakes he made.

Alexander downed the wine in his glass.

Alexander didnโ€™t respond. He just looked at Kieran. He wouldnโ€™t come over in the middleโ€ฆ Kieran didnโ€™t care that much about Alexanderโ€™s life or death. He should throw it away. Looking at it will only upset him.

โ€œNote at the bar today,โ€ Kieran sat down next to Alexander. The smell of alcohol on Alexander was particularly strong. โ€œYou should drink less. Donโ€™t end up in the hospital with a stomach ulcer. Donโ€™t you know your own condition?โ€ Kieran reminded Alexander while picking up something, frowning.

Alexanderโ€™s hand holding the glass paused, remembering Elizabethโ€™s words. Alexander took a couple more sips of wine, then felt at ease. Kieran handed him a note.

โ€œWhat?โ€ Alexander asked.

โ€œSee for yourself. I was confused too. A waiter gave it to me,โ€ Kieran shrugged, โ€œbut I think it was meant for you. After all, itโ€™s related to Esme.โ€

Hearing it was related to Esme, Alexander immediately opened the note. โ€œHospital, Esmeโ€™s follower Vincent,โ€ it read. Alexanderโ€™s pupils contracted, and he instantly sobered up, sitting up straight, no longer slouching.

โ€œSomething wrong? You understand?โ€ Kieran asked him.

Alexander pursed his lips, โ€œWho gave it to you?โ€

โ€œThe bar waiter,โ€ Kieran replied.
