Chapter 339
But the fantasy crashed hard against reality. Shermaine moved with cheetah-like agility, her explosive strength insane. Maybe being a doctor gave her an edge in targeting pressure points. Every time Kylie attacked, Shermaine dodged as if toying with her. She caught Kylieโs fist mid-swing and twisted until bones popped. Kylieโs face contorted in pain; she swung her other hand, but Shermaine pinned that too.
โThis weak? How the hell did you become a hitman?โ The mockery dripped from Shermaineโs voice.
Kylie flushed crimson and tried to knee her in the gut, but Shermaine released her. Kylie stumbled back as Shermaine landed a flying kick, sending her careening over desks. She rolled twice before slamming onto the floor.
Meanwhile, Roy stopped his nosebleed and left the bathroom to find people stampeding out with armed foreign men. Roy wasnโt some pushover; everyone from their academy had combat training. These goons were clearly part of the hit squad. Roy spotted bombs stashed in the cornerโa cold-blooded move. They planned to blow the place sky-high. He had to take them down and disarm the explosives.
Klaus arrived to find Kylie facedown, Shermaineโs boot on her back. Furious, he thought, โNo one touches my girl.โ He charged Shermaine.
Molly instantly recognized Klausโa top assassin for the Dark Organization. โSo theyโre gunning for Shermaine?โ she wondered. โNo, upper brass wouldnโt green-light a messy op like this.โ This had to be Klaus playing hero, using his hit squad to impress the two-timing Kylie.
But a top assassin? Shermaine could handle that. When Molly noticed Klausโs knuckle dusters had spikes, she tossed her combat knife.
Molly said, โIโll go check whatโs happening outside.โ
Shermaine caught the blade and gave a small nod. She rolled her neck. โYouโve got a lover here in Ustrana, but back home you were hitting on my man. โTwo-timing slutโ is too nice for you, Kylie.โ
Kylie grabbed her throat; Shermaineโs earlier choke had left her shaken. Hearing the insult, she yelled, โKlaus, donโt believe her lies!โ
โDonโt worry, Kylie,โ Klaus said. โOne stupid comment wonโt change how I feel about you.โ
โOh, really?โ Shermaine strolled to the podium and tapped the screen. โThen take a look at this. I found some very interesting photos on Kylieโs phone and computer.โ
Kylieโs face went white. Her phone was encrypted; no regular hacker could get in. But Shermaine wasnโt just any hacker. She was a tech legend, always one step ahead in data work, and even able to implant advanced tech.
Soon, explicit photos and sleazy audio started playing. The people hiding under the desks cringed. Despite their progressive attitudes, they still valued integrity and romance. The idea of being objectified was unacceptable; it was disgusting, and worst of all, Kylie had been after more than one person.
Of course, Kylie had disrespected Joshua. Once Shermaine found that out, she couldnโt do nothing. Honestly, just seeing it made her angry, so this was her payback.
Klausโs expression kept changing. Finally, furious, he slapped Kylie hard. โKylie, youโre such a goddamn whore!โ
