Chapter 358
In just a few days, Jameson had plummeted into the darkest chapter of his life. Natalie, the woman he had deeply loved, was a transgender individual. Jason, his biological son, was the result of Natalie's surrogacy. Though Natalie had raised Jason as her own, Jameson couldn't shake his disgust. The sight of Jason filled him with revulsion, a constant reminder of his own follyโabandoning the exceptional Ruth for Natalie and persecuting Ross.
Natalie had meticulously manipulated Jameson for years, her schemes leaving his body failing. Without immediate surgery, his time was running out. Though ousted as Jean Groupโs president, Jameson still held shares. No longer a fool, he had quietly reclaimed assets gifted to Natalie. He let Jason keep the money, but every share had been clawed back.
Recently, Natalie had stormed into his hospital room to protest. No one else cameโnot Ross, who had ignored Jamesonโs hospitalization, nor Janice, who seemed to have erased him from her life. Jameson had hinted at remorse, yet no forgiveness came.
The doctor was reviewing Jameson. Each day felt like a year. Despite medication, his decline was palpable. He asked, โDoctor, when will Dr. Jean arrive?โ The doctor said, โSheโs extraordinarily busy. The news says sheโs returned today. Be patient.โ The numbers were dire; delaying surgery would heighten the risks. All the doctor could do was fight for an opportunity for Jameson. If Dr. Jean refused, only fate remained.
Jamesonโs hands trembled. He thought, โSheโs back. Thereโs still hope!โ Just as he was lost in thought, Natalieโs shrill voice pierced the hallway. Barred from entering, she hurled obscenities outside.
Natalie couldn't fathom how her meticulously concealed gender reassignment surgery had been exposed. But so what? She was a woman now, and Jameson had stripped her of everything. Even Jason had vanished days ago. The sound of her screeching made Jamesonโs head throb. She dared show up here, after he had shown mercy by not having her arrested.
Fed up with her daily disruptions, Jameson yanked out his IV and stormed into the hallway, his face twisted with rage. He snarled, โYou disgusting bitch! One more scene, and I swear Iโll ruin you.โ Natalieโs allergy-induced scars darkened grotesquely, forcing her to hide behind a mask. โJamie, I didnโt know the medication would harm you! Iโm sorry. Please donโt cast me out!โ
The fiery arrogance was gone. Natalie lunged forward to embrace him, but Jameson shoved her away. โDonโt fucking touch me!โ He jerked his chin at the guards. โThrow her out. I never want to see her again.โ As the guards dragged Natalie off, Jamesonโs fury triggered a coughing fit, blood spattering his palm. Panic whitened his face as he collapsed. Nurses rushed him back to bed, and the doctor scolded him sternly.
Reconnected to IV drips and medication, Jameson stared blankly at the evening news. Suddenly, he saw Shermaine.
