Chapter 449
Shermaine had run into a few thugs since arriving, but theyโd all learned the hard way not to mess with her. โYou need something?โ
โDamn right I do,โ Leto snapped. โYou think you can hit me and walk away like nothing happened?โ
The Kingdom of Xyperia was nothing like Earth. Law didnโt exist to uphold justice here. Power was the only order that mattered. There were no real rules, and things like murder, theft, or arson were just part of daily life.
This was the Kingdom of Xyperia. Unlike Earth, where laws at least pretended to stand for justice, here the only rule that mattered was power. Order was maintained through force, not fairness.
In wealthier districts, there were patrols, trained forces, and robotic enforcement units.
There were no police forces, only military units, many of which deployed robots first to suppress trouble. If the robots failed, then humans stepped in.
Shermaine lifted an eyebrow, completely unfazed.
โUnless you come with me,โ said Leto, eyes gleaming with confidence, โyouโre not walking out of here.โ
โAnd if I donโt?โ she asked, tone flat.
โThen Iโll stop playing nice.โ
Truth be told, ever since she arrived, Shermaine had been laying low for her babyโs sake. But she hadnโt forgotten how to break bones. And this guy was the exact kind of cockroach sheโd been itching to step on.
Across the room, the casino employee looked on with mounting dread. He knew only the boss might be able to rein this in, but even then, it would cost him.
Shermaine casually slid her chips into her bag. โAlright,โ she said, tilting her head slightly. โCome here, then.โ
Leto, thinking sheโd finally caved, swaggered over. In his mind, she was just another woman to be claimed, and his father ran Yorksland. If he wanted her, heโd have her.
But the moment he got close, Shermaine smiled faintly, grabbed him by the throat, and slammed him faceโfirst onto the gambling table. โFunny,โ she said softly, โI like using force too.โ
A collective gasp swept through the crowd. Attacking the city lordโs son was a oneโway ticket to a prison cell if they were lucky.
Leto roared, dazed but still standing. โWhat are you all waiting for? Get her!โ
But before his men could move, a blade was at his throat. โYou want to test whether your goons are faster than my knife? Be my guest.โ
Letoโs bravado collapsed. โYouโฆ you canโt do this. Iโm the city lordโs son. You kill me, and theyโll hunt you down to the ends of the kingdom.โ
โThen I guess Iโd better make it worth the bounty.โ Her patience lately had been paperโthin, and in this city, taking a life meant little. She felt no guilt.
A man like Leto, worthless and dangerous, was better off dead than allowed to prey on more women.
He could feel the killing intent coming off her in waves. His face turned ghostโwhite.
By the time the casino owner arrived, Leto and his bodyguards were sprawled on the floor, barely conscious. Leto, in particular, had been castrated.
Beautiful as she was, this woman was terrifying.
The owner broke out in a cold sweat. Thank God heโd always kept a clean reputation, otherwise, this couldโve been his fate.

โWhereโs Boar?โ he asked.
โShe went to the restroom.โ
He was stunned. She didnโt try to hide and just went to freshen up.
If the city guard showed up now, she wouldnโt even have time to escape.
In the restroom, Shermaine removed her golden wig, letting her natural red hair fall loose.
She washed her hands thoroughly, rinsing away every trace of blood. Only once she was clean did she leave, unhurried, calm, as if nothing had happened.
Meanwhile, in Loca City, the central capital under Judyโs command, at the top floor of Eagle Assassins HQ.
Joshua stood alone, mask on, a silver pistol in his hand. The man in the executive chair was already dead.
By the time the other assassins rushed in, the scene before them left them stunned. Every one of their leaderโs elite fighters lay dead at his feet. The heavy stench of blood filled the entire floor, thick as smoke.
They never imagined this monster would wipe out the entire core of their organization, and do it so effortlessly.
Joshua, unfazed, casually reloaded his gun. โSubmit,โ he said coolly, โor die. Your choice.โ
