Listen to this chapter:

Teasing, “Why do I feel that someone is talking bad about me? It must be my illusion. Is it, Charlie?”

Dale's heart skipped a beat when he heard Bennett’s voice. He turned around and saw Bennett walking towards them. Bennett had caught him “talking bad." Charlie, who had always been calm, now looked a little stiff. He managed to calm himself down and said to Bennett, “It’s your illusion.”

“Is it?” Bennett walked over. He leaned against the back of the sofa, looking down at Charlie. Although his eyes were filled with smiles, there was also a hint of warning. He said, “Then I think I heard you telling Noelle to be careful of me. Why? Am I a bad person or something!”

Under Bennett’s gaze, Charlie could not help but look elsewhere. His voice was still indifferent. “Bennett, you’ve misunderstood.”

“Did I?” Bennett was still smiling, but he was a little aggressive. "Then explain to Noelle now. What exactly is wrong with me? Why should she be—"

Charlie had no way but to look at Bennett. His eyes seemed to be saying, “Don’t you know?”

Bennett smiled. “Tell us then.”

Charlie hated to stir up trouble. Right now, he indeed did not have any evidence of Bennett’s bad intentions. His doubts about Bennett were all based on experience, but that wasn’t enough to prove anything.

In the end, Charlie lost. He lowered his eyelashes and said calmly, “I heard from Noelle that you accidentally cut her with a fruit knife, so I wanted her to be careful and not get close to you when you are holding a knife.”

“I see…” Bennett raised his eyebrows with satisfaction. He said leisurely, “Well, about that, you are right.”

As he spoke, he looked at Noelle again and smiled apologetically. “Noelle, I’m sorry. I will definitely pay attention next time.”

Noelle felt the undercurrent between Bennett and Charlie. However, she was not good at this kind of intrigue and did not understand it. She did not know what the two of them were secretly competing for.

Hearing Bennett’s words, Noelle replied in a daze, “It’s fine, Bennett. It’s just a small injury. Don’t take it to heart.”

“Okay,” Bennett smiled.

Then, he bent down and reached over the back of the sofa to hug Noelle from behind. He sighed and pretended to be pitiful. “A sister is so much better than a brother. I am so sad.”

Noelle was shocked to be suddenly hugged by Bennett. As a member of the Anderson family, she had always been the one who had to stick to others. It was the first time someone stuck to her. At this moment, Noelle’s heart was fluttering. Although it was hard to guess what Bennett was thinking, she felt her relationship with Bennett was pretty good. He called her little princess and said she was sweet. Have I succeeded in making him accept me?

Before Bennett returned, Noelle would never have thought that there would be someone so easy to conquer in the Anderson family. So easy to conquer, Noelle decided to ignore the “strange” parts of him.

Therefore, although Bennett was a little strange, seeing that he was so easy to please, Noelle quickly reached out to pat Bennett’s head and said to him with a smile, “Bennett, don’t be sad! Charlie was just worried about me, but it doesn’t mean that he’s against you. Don’t be angry with Charlie.”

“Noelle, you are so sweet! You are even helping Charlie. Alright, since you said so, I will forgive him,” Bennett said to Noelle with a smile. When Noelle saw Bennett smile, she beamed.

Charlie’s eyelids twitched when he saw Noelle and Bennett smiling together. They looked like a wolf trying to fool a rabbit.

Forget it. Bennett is not a real wolf. He would not swallow Noelle anyway. And we are family. I guess he won’t go too far, Charlie thought.

Chapter 158

Charlie stood up silently and said, “Take your time, guys.”

“Charlie, are you leaving?” Noelle looked back at Charlie, her small face was still filled with a bright smile. She was full of vigor.

Charlie looked down at the girl. He paused for a moment and explained calmly, “I have a task in the afternoon. I have to pack up and prepare to go.”

“I see. See you later then.”

“And you?" said Noelle.

“The Legend?” Charlie asked. “Didn’t Radiance Media arrange any other activities for you after you finished the song for T?”

“No.” Noelle smiled and said, “I’ve never thought of going into the entertainment industry. Writing songs is just a temporary interest. But if you want a song, I can write it for you.”

“…Charlie subconsciously wanted to say no. Yet, thinking that Noelle was a genius composer who had written “The Shadows”, a song he liked a lot, he felt that it was better not to refuse.

He said, “We’ll talk about it when there’s a chance.”

“Okay!” Noelle agreed and waved at Charlie. “Goodbye, Charlie.”

Charlie looked at her and said, “Goodbye.”

After Charlie left, Bennett could not help but chuckle.

“Bennett, what’s so funny?” Noelle was puzzled.

Bennett raised his eyebrows at her and said leisurely, “Noelle, you’re really a talent!”

There were not many people that Charlie cared about. Charlie had always been indifferent. He had never cared about anyone. But he cared about Noelle and even bothered to remind her to be careful of Bennett. Bennett felt that Charlie’s concern was probably attributed to Noelle’s composition talent. After all, there were not many people who could make Charlie admire their talent.

But Noelle was just excellent. Charlie was first attracted by her talent, and then everything else. Noelle made it. She was awesome.

When Noelle saw Bennett’s admiring gaze, her heart began to swell again. She loved compliments. There was a bright smile on her beautiful little face as she said, “Right, right? I also think I’m a talent. Bennett, I’m awesome, right?”

“Yes, yes, yes.” Bennett looked at Noelle’s smug expression and smiled like a shrewd businessman.

He wrapped his arms around Noelle intimately and started to dig a hole for her again. He asked, “Noelle, other than composing music, racing, and cooking, what else can you do!"
