Chapter 78: At the Cafe

Leia told Damon briefly what had happened at school.

"Damon, I don't really care about any reputation, but why did Eli have to say these things in front of everyone? It seems that he wanted everyone to know. I feel so ashamed now. I feel like everyone will look at me differently in the future," Leia said, starting to cry again. She was still so delicate and pitiful, like a little flower that needed constant care and attention.

Damon's expression changed after hearing what Leia said. He thought Eli must have gone crazy. It was better if fewer people knew about Leia and Noelle's matter. However, Eli had to go to Leia's class and deliberately reveal their identities.

Doesn't Eli know how much this will hurt Leia! Damon thought. Damn it! I asked him to take care of Leia at school, and this is what he does! Damon was so angry that he wanted to look for Eli and beat him up.

He suddenly stood up and walked to Leia. Then he pulled her up and said, "Let's go, Leia!"

"What are you doing, Damon?" Leia looked up with tears in her eyes and asked.

Damon answered, "I'm going to look for Eli and get justice for you!"

Leia shook her head and said, "Don't do that. I don't want to see you quarreling with Eli. It's bad for your reputation to be seen quarreling in school."

"You are still worried about Eli?" Damon asked with a dark expression. He continued, "If I don't stand up for you today, how are you going to survive in school? I have to make a stand so that others won't gossip about you!"

Leia remained silent. Damon pulled Leia up, and she stood up from her seat obediently. There was a glint in her eyes. Because of what Eli had done this afternoon, everyone must know that she was not the biological daughter of the Anderson family. Since that was the case, Leia might as well make a big deal out of it. Damon was the one who doted on her the most in the family. Whenever anything happened to her, Damon would back her up.

Leia was excited. She figured that her status in the Anderson family was far superior to Noelle's. As long as Damon made a scene with Eli at school for her, everyone would know that her status in the Anderson family was secure. That way, those students who always went with the flow would still gather around her. Of course, this scandal would give the school a bad name, and Eli's reputation might be affected.

So what if his reputation is affected? He was the one who created the commotion by revealing the secret. Since he chose to side with Noelle, I shouldn't be bothered about him. This is all Eli's fault! Leia felt that it had nothing to do with her.

Damon took Leia back to school to confront Eli. When they reached the school gate, they didn't expect to see Noelle. She was heading to the newly opened fried chicken restaurant with her classmates.

"Hello, Damon."

Noelle was sharp-eyed and spotted Damon. A bright smile immediately appeared on her face as she waved to Damon. It was an awkward moment for Damon. He didn't expect to meet Noelle at the school gate. Seeing the brilliant smile on her little face, his body paused slightly, and a complex look flashed across his eyes.

Leia, however, was seething. She figured that the instigator of this incident was Noelle. Now that their paths had crossed, Noelle still had the cheek to smile so brightly. She was clearly trying to provoke Leia. Knowing Damon's temper, he definitely wouldn't let Noelle off easy! Damon would slap Noelle in front of her classmates to embarrass her and teach her a lesson.

"Damon, it's Noelle…" Leia looked back at Damon and quickly reminded him.

"Hmm," Damon came back to his senses and said indifferently to Leia, "Let's go." Then he walked together with Leia and brushed past Noelle, without acknowledging her.

Leia was stunned. She wondered why Damon walked past Noelle so calmly. He should have taught her a lesson. Leia couldn't accept Damon's action. She bit her lip and glanced at him with a pathetic look. She asked bluntly, "Damon, do you think Noelle hates me a lot? Something like this happened, but she still purposely smiled so happily in front of me. She must hate me very much."

Damon frowned slightly at Leia's words. "Leia, don't overthink it," Damon said calmly. "Noelle is silly and not scheming." Damon wasn't being narcissistic; however, he felt that Noelle was simply smiling at him because she saw him. She wasn't smiling to spite Leia.

"Oh really!…Maybe I'm overthinking it." Leia didn't expect Damon to say that. She forced an awkward smile on her face, but she felt that something was wrong. Leia felt that Damon was speaking up for Noelle. Damon had no evidence to prove that Noelle wasn't scheming. For some reason, Leia had a bad feeling. She kept thinking that something was starting to change slowly without her knowledge.

On the other side, Noelle looked back in Damon's direction.

Her classmates around her asked in a low voice, "Noelle, is that handsome guy your brother? Why didn't he stop to talk to you?"

Noelle was honest and said frankly, "Because Damon dotes on Leia the most. Leia was affected by the incident today, so Damon must be angry with me and ignore me."

When the students heard this, they felt that Noelle had been wronged.

"What does this have to do with you?" Another classmate said. "Yeah, Noelle, you are the biological daughter of the Anderson family, but people have been mistaking you for an illegitimate daughter. Leia must have heard these rumors, but she never clarified them for you. I even suspect that Leia started those rumors; after all, she is the one who gains the most from this!"

"Don't say that, no one has heard Leia say these things."

"Don't you understand? That's why she is scheming. Noelle, be careful, Leia is not simple," Noelle's classmates reminded her.

But Noelle was thinking about Damon. She wondered what Damon was going to do. She hoped that he would not go and argue with Eli.

"You guys go ahead for the fried chicken. Sorry, I'm not going," Noelle told her classmates.

"What's wrong?" her classmate asked, confused.

"I don't know why Damon has come to the school. I have to go see him," said Noelle.

"Oh, right. It seems like your brother had an angry expression when he walked past. You better go check it out. Is it okay if you go alone?"

Noelle replied confidently, "It's fine. I'm a really good fighter."

"Hahaha, that's right, I almost forgot. Even the instructor is no match for you."

"I'm leaving then."

"Okay, bye."

After saying goodbye to her classmates, Noelle immediately called Eli. Eli had just finished a meeting. He answered the phone when he saw Noelle's name on the screen.

"Hello, Eli, Damon is here. I think he's looking for you," Noelle said.

Eli's face darkened as soon as he heard this. Leia had created such a big commotion at school today, and Damon had gone to settle the score with him. Her reputation had been greatly affected today, and Damon had gone to prevent the matter from escalating. Eli hurriedly left the Student Union. As soon as he walked out of the building, as luck would have it, he saw Damon and Leia walking toward him.

It was really a case of speak of the devil. Eli had no choice but to brace himself and walk up to them. "Damon, Leia."

"Eli, you are incredible!" Damon looked hostile, as though he was looking for a fight.

Eli couldn't help but sigh. He walked over and put his hand on Damon's shoulder. "Damon, let's go back and talk about this. It's not convenient to talk here with so many people around."

However, Damon brushed his hand away unceremoniously and scoffed, "You realize there are many people now? Why didn't you realize that when you were talking nonsense in Leia's class?"

Eli was speechless. He couldn't explain the matter to Damon in a short time. Eli looked at Leia again and said, "Leia, let's go back and talk about it, okay?"

A look of resentment flashed across Leia's eyes when she looked at Eli. Then she hid behind Damon timidly and pulled his sleeve. "Eli, I'll listen to Damon."
