Chapter 82: No, Nothing.

Leia was frightened by Eli's indifference. She immediately lowered her head and said weakly, "Eli, I'm just a little curious, nothing else..."

Eli withdrew his gaze and said coldly, "That's good."

"Think about it, Noelle is pretty good. She's straightforward and innocent, and she's sincere to people. She's not as bad as we thought, even better, don't you think?"

"Of course," Leia replied. She was so angry that she was about to vomit blood, but she could only force a smile and echoed Eli. "I said long ago that Noelle wasn't that bad, but it was you and Eli who didn't believe it."

Eli saw that the smile on Leia's face was almost unbearable, but he still made a show of approval. He couldn't help but compare them in his heart: If it was Noelle, she definitely wouldn't bear it if she was unhappy. Though Leia would have the upper hand if they were judged by their ladylike behavior... Eli suddenly felt that Noelle's straightforwardness, without any duplicity, was actually quite pleasant.

When they arrived home, Noelle was the first to run inside, greeting Vincent and Kimberly in the living room. "Dad, Mom, I'm home!"

A smile immediately appeared on Kimberly's face when she saw Noelle, and she stood up and replied, "Noelle, you're back. I heard you were all coming home for dinner, so I had someone prepare a lot of dishes for you."

"Really?" Noelle's eyes lit up, and she shouted, "I want meat! Lots of meat!"

"Don't worry, there's plenty of meat for you," Kimberly chuckled. "This child is such a carnivore."

Leia walked to the door, a little surprised by the interaction between Noelle and Kimberly. Although Kimberly had always been gentle and kind to Noelle since her return to the Anderson family, the two of them were definitely not close before. But when she came back today, Leia noticed her mother's relationship with Noelle had improved a lot! What's going on? Leia walked to the dining room with this question in mind. Back then, Leia was absolutely doted on, and everyone ate with her at mealtime. But this time...

"Leia, Noelle, come here, sit next to Mom," Kimberly smiled and waved at her two daughters.

"Okay!" Noelle walked over with Leia. Kimberly was sitting to the right of Vincent, and Noelle and Leia walked to Kimberly's left side and wanted to sit down. Their hands landed on the back of the chair at the same time. Both of them were stunned.

Their eyes met. Leia had suffered a great grievance today and had been holding it in. She had thought that she would be able to get some comfort after returning home, but she found that her family's attitude towards Noelle had changed drastically. Leia gripped the back of the chair tightly, her eyes filled with resentment as she looked at Noelle. This bitch! It isn't enough for her to bewitch Damon and Eli, now she wants to take her place in the family, too?

Noelle blinked her beautiful eyes as she looked at Leia. She always kept in mind Nicolas's wise words: Walk the path of a mistress, and leave the mistress with nowhere to go. Then Noelle let go of her hand first and gave Leia a generous smile. "Leia, you sit down. You've been at school for two weeks, Mom must miss you!" The little girl took the initiative to sit down on the seat next to her. The difference between the two was obvious.

Seeing this, Leia suddenly woke up and immediately realized what she had just done. Leia had always maintained an image of kindness and generosity at home, but the way she just fought for a seat with Noelle was simply ruining her image! Leia wanted to make amends, but Noelle was already seated, and it would be useless for her to give up her seat again. No way! Leia could only continue to act gentle and added in a low voice, "Thank you, Noelle. I do miss Mom."

At this moment, Eli and Damon also walked over. They both set their sights on the seat next to Noelle.

Eli glanced at Damon and said, "Damon, let go, I want to sit here."

Damon asked back, "What if I don't? Didn't you say you hate Noelle Anderson? Why are you sitting next to her?" Eli used Damon's previous words to provoke him.

Damon said, "What does this have to do with Noelle! I wanted to sit next to Leia, but Noelle took the seat. I can only move one over. Anyway, I'm sitting here!"

Eli said, "You sit next to me."

Damon shot back.

Seeing his two sons arguing endlessly over a seat, Vincent put down his fork and scolded them. "What difference does it make where you sit? You're all grown up, why are you still acting like children?"

Eli said to Vincent, "Dad, I'm younger than Damon. Tell him to go."

Damon said, "Eli, have you no shame? Using your age as an excuse?"

"It's a fact that I'm younger than you," Eli replied.

Seeing the two of them in a deadlock, everyone around them was dumbfounded. It was just a seat? Why were they fighting tooth and nail over it? Seeing this, Noelle suddenly stood up and said to Damon, "Damon, why don't you take my seat? I'll sit here?" Then, without another word, Noelle sat down in the seat next to her.

Damon's dark eyes flickered as he saw Noelle offering him her seat. He couldn't help cursing inwardly: Idiot! Then Damon sat down next to Leia. Seeing that Noelle had taken a seat, Eli naturally moved a little and sat down next to her.

Looking at this scene of brotherly love and sisterly respect, Kimberly couldn't help but praise Noelle with a smile. "Noelle is so sensible, unlike your two brothers, they are so old, and they are still fighting for seats like children."

Noelle loved being praised. As soon as Kimberly finished speaking, a bright smile appeared on the little girl's face, and she said to her, "Mom, it's my duty to contribute to the harmony of our family!"

"Ha-ha, this child," Kimberly liked the way Noelle's eyes sparkled with laughter. Kimberly felt like this child was full of life and energy. Being with her seems to lift everyone's spirits.

Eli scoffed from the side. "Where did you learn to talk like that? It sounds so stupid!"

Noelle was surprised and asked, "Eli, is that stupid?"

"Incredibly stupid!" Eli replied.

"Hmm, then I'll rephrase." Noelle looked at Damon on her right, then at Eli on her left. Noelle's eyes lit up and she said, "Actually, I like this seat because Eli is on my left and Damon is on my right. I'm sitting in the middle, and you two are like my wings!"

What is this child even saying? Kimberly was amused.

Eli rolled his eyes and said, "If you don't know how to speak, then shut up. No one thinks you're mute, thank you."

They were all her wings? What kind of scumbag woman theory was that?

Damon didn't say much but suddenly picked up a big chicken drumstick and put it on Noelle's plate.

"Huh?" Noelle looked at the big chicken drumstick, then tilted her head to look at Damon. "Damon!"

Damon said, "Eat your food." The implication was to stop making surprising remarks.

"Can I have the other drumstick, Damon!" Noelle asked with a grin, having polished off the first one in a few bites.

"Are you a pig?" Damon rolled his eyes.

"Please!" Noelle begged. In the end, the other drumstick also ended up in Noelle's hands. Leia felt like an outsider as she observed the family's cheerful interaction. Sadness and grievance welled up within her.

After dinner, Leia excused herself to her room, citing fatigue. After arriving at the bedroom, Leia still couldn't forget the scenes from dinner. Damon, Eli, and even Mom had started to favor Noelle. If this continued, would there still be a place for her in the Anderson family!

Just as Leia was feeling anxious and uneasy, a phone call came in. Leia picked up the phone and saw that it was her third brother, Charlie, calling. She answered the phone. A clear, cool, magnetic, and pleasant voice came through.

"Leia, are you free next weekend?"

"Charlie, what's up?" Leia asked.

Charlie explained, "Didn't you always want to be a singer? I recorded the song you sang before and let the company hear it. They think your voice is very good and want you to come to the recording studio to record a song this weekend."
