Chapter 159
โWellโฆโ Jennyโs eyes flickered. โCan this wait until tomorrow?โ
I promise Iโll come to buy it.
The sales agentโs expression dimmed. โFine, letโs talk tomorrow. However, Iโm afraid thereโs nothing we can do if someone else buys the unit in the meantime.โ
Jenny gritted her teeth. โHow about I make a phone call first?โ
โSure.โ
Jenny left the VIP lounge to find a quiet corner. Before dialing, she deliberately checked on Mindy and Miranda to ensure they couldn't hear her. Then, she pressed the call button.
โHello, Dad. Itโs me. I came to Lakeside Jewel today to check out the new apartment for you and Mom. Yes, that popular complex. Itโs very popular!
Harold and I have both seen it. The environment is excellent. Yes, itโs very sought after! Why donโt you two come over today and sign the agreement? Just to be safe.โ
Jenny had planned carefully. Her current apartment wasn't bad, but it paled in comparison to Lakeside. Coincidentally, her parents wanted to move.
Jenny planned to persuade them to buy a high-rise unit there. Then, she would convince them to move into her three-bedroom apartment while she and Harold moved into the new unit. After all, she was their only child. Eventually, the property would be hers.
She would put her parentsโ names on the deed. The apartment could be transferred to her after full payment. Then, they could gift it to her, saving on taxes.
Jenny continued, โSo itโs settled, Dad, Mom, hurry and take a cab here. Yes, itโs near Earnest High.โ
Miranda and Mindy were unconcerned about who bought the apartment or whose name was on the deed. They lacked the patience to watch Jennyโs performance and left early becauseโฆ
Lionel had called, urging them, โDidnโt you say youโd be quick? Itโs been over an hour! Mindy, the front compound and backyard design is amazing! I just walked around. We can plant flowers, a vegetable garden, even fruit trees!โ
Mindy was thrilled. She hadnโt even seen the house yet!
โWe were delayed. Weโll head over now,โ Mindy replied.
After watching her parents sign the agreement and pay, Jenny and Harold drove them home before returning themselves.
In the car, Jenny leaned back and sighed. โItโs finally settled.โ
โWhy were you so eager? Whatโs the difference between today and tomorrow? You dragged them out here, and itโs already darkโฆโ
Jenny rolled her eyes. โThat apartment needed to be bought quickly. We might not get another chance! We had to strike while the iron was hot. As for why I was so eagerโฆโ
Jenny smiled. โHey, do you want to live in that house?โ
Haroldโs lips twitched. โWhat kind of question is that? Who wouldnโt want a nice house? The key is whether we can afford it.โ
โGreat, you want to live there. I do too,โ she replied.
Harold noticed her devious tone. โWhat do you mean?โ
Jenny countered, โWhat do you think? Isnโt my parentsโ home going to be mine eventually? Whatโs wrong with enjoying it early? Besides, our current place isnโt badโฆโ
Harold gasped, โDonโt tell me, you mean toโฆโ
โI do! Whatโs wrong with that? Iโm their only daughter!โ she retorted.
โYour parents wonโt agree. That house is so expensive.โ
โDonโt worry, I have a plan.โ
Indeed, the house was expensive. Living in the high-rise would drain a middle-class family's finances, let alone a villa. Where did a young woman like Miranda get that kind of money?
