Chapter 0262
Ingrid wanted to focus on her pregnancy and Hansel. Since she would marry into the Johnson family, she figured graduating from university seemed irrelevant.
On Monday, she handed in her application to withdraw from university. She cited illness as her reason so that the approval process wouldnโt take too long.
Since she was already on campus, she decided to go to her dormitory and pack her belongings. There were no classes in the afternoon, so she pushed the door open and found her roommates inside.
Ingrid had moved out a long time ago. Though some of her belongings were still there, she hadnโt returned for ages. Her sudden appearance surprised her roommates.
โIngy, what are you doing here? Arenโt you staying at your boyfriendโs place?โ
โDid you forget something? Just send us a message, and we can have it sent over.โ
Ingrid smirked and lifted her chin proudly. โIโm here to pack. Iโve decided to drop out of uni.โ
She wore a new Chanel sweater and skirt, topped with a classic Burberry trench coat. A Hermรจs bag hung on her armโa gift from Evelyn. Everything about her exuded wealth, and she moved with the effortless grace of someone from high society.
Her roommates had never seen anything like this before and exchanged puzzled glances.
Abigail, who was Ingridโs close friend, was surprised to hear the news. โDropping out isnโt something to take lightly, Ingy. Please donโt make any rash decisions."
The others nodded. โYeah, dropping out is different from taking a leave of absence. Once itโs approved, youโll lose your spot. What if you regret it?โ
โRegret? Whatโs there to regret?โ Ingrid replied. โOnce I make up my mind, I donโt look back.โ
โBut youโve been studying for two years. Doesnโt it seem a waste to quit now?โ
Ingrid smiled faintly. โNope. In life, you have to make sacrifices to gain something. Iโll tell you a secret: Iโm pregnant and about to marry into a rich family.โ She lowered her voice intentionally, but her tone was filled with pride and arrogance.
She continued, โRight now, the most important thing is to have a healthy baby and learn how to be a good wife. As for my education, Iโll deal with that later.โ
With money, she wasnโt worried about education. There were plenty of prestigious schools around the world for her to choose from.
โIngy, do your parents know about your pregnancy and uni withdrawal?โ
Ingrid thought about her indifferent father and gambling mother and scowled. โThis is my personal matter, and I donโt see any reason for them to be informed. Even if they did know, they wouldnโt give a damn.โ
She spoke casually, but her roommates frowned as they listened.
โIngy, I think you should reconsider,โ Abigail urged.
โYeah, I feel the same as Abby. We worked so hard through middle and high school. We were finally admitted into uni, and now youโre just giving up. It feelsโฆโ
Even if Ingrid were pregnant, what if things didnโt work out after she got married? Her roommates thought about how relying on others wasnโt a dependable strategy. Ultimately, she could only truly depend on herself.
Her roommates had wanted to offer more advice, but seeing Ingridโs frown and look of irritation, they realized she wouldnโt listen. Pushing further might only make things worse.
They knew everyone had to face the consequences of their own decisions and were mere spectators in this situation.
Ingrid glanced around and said, โThereโs nothing worth taking."
She inspected her old belongings critically. Her cosmetics were no-name brands, her clothes were outdated, and everything seemed cheap.
