Chapter 0325
After dropping Miranda and Paul off, Winter drove to the bar. The ride was smooth, but just as she was about to park at the bar entrance, a Maserati zipped in from the side and slammed into her rear.
Winter was furious. She slammed her door and marched to the front of the other vehicle. โWhat the hell is wrong with you? Do you know how to drive? Why are you stepping on the gas instead of slowing down? Youโre speeding right here, and youโre not even looking where youโre going. My car wasnโt even halfway in the parking space. Were you not paying attention? How did you even hit me?โ
The Maserati driverโs door swung open, and a man stepped out with a grin. โI was curious who it was, and it turned out to be you. Itโs just a minor bump. You donโt have to lose your cool.โ
Zach swaggered over to Winter with a cheeky smile.
โOh! Itโs Mr. Graaaaaham.โ She dragged out the syllables while keeping the sarcasm subtle.
He assessed the rear of the Ferrari and realized it was indeed badly hit, but he maintained his usual nonchalance. โItโs not a big deal. I was just going a bit fast and wasnโt paying attention. Looks like we had a littleโฆ close encounter, right?โ
โSince when did we have a close encounter?โ Winter rolled her eyes. โBe clear about what you mean.โ
Zach replied, โFine. Iโll take the blame. Iโll call the insurance and ask them to tow your car for repairs.โ
She retorted, โTake the blame? Itโs obviously your fault. Youโre supposed to call insurance. Now Iโm going to be without a car for a while.โ
โYou, of all people, without other cars? You must be joking.โ
Winter didnโt feel like arguing with Zach. She tossed him the car keys and said, โIโve got things to take care of. You handle this.โ
Just as she was about to head into the bar, a woman suddenly rushed over and slapped him across the face. It was a sharp and loud smack.
Winter was dumbfounded and wondered why that woman was so fierce.
Zach was momentarily stunned, but he quickly snapped back to reality. He ran his hand along the side of his face where she had slapped him and smiled. โMs. Seacrest, you should be thankful I donโt hit women.โ
โStop pretending to be charming! Youโre just a loser and a jerk.โ After her outburst, the woman, Mira Seacrest, couldnโt hold back her tears and threw herself into his arms.
She added, โAre we really breaking up? Canโt we just stay together? Even if you donโt want to marry me, thatโs okay. We can still be a couple.โ
Mira was beautiful. She wore a tailored white suit that made her look sharp and elegant.
Winter observed as Mira cycled through laughter and tears. Plus, her voice changed from sweet to sharp. The way she looked at Zach was a tangled mix of love and resentment, and it felt utterly off.
She cried like a scene from a melodrama while his expression remained blank.
Mira stiffened and pulled away from his embrace. Her gaze shifted from shock to disappointment. โZach, you donโt understand anything about love. You only think money solves everything.โ
She wiped her tears and stepped back. โBut one day, youโll encounter a woman that money canโt fix. Youโll experience the agony of longing for someone you canโt have, lying awake at night and consumed by fear of losing her.
โIn the end, youโll be despised, trampled on, and looked down upon like me. I wish you a lifetime of unrequited love, haunted by what you canโt have, and filled with regret. You donโt deserve happiness.โ
