Chapter 0361
Lucy complained a bit more, not understanding any of it and therefore, not interested. What she saw was merely a huge crowd, packed tight.
โLetโs go, letโs go, letโs get out of here,โ she urged.
Evelyn smirked sarcastically, ready to leave with them, when she suddenly spotted a familiar figure.
Miranda was standing with Winter, and behind them was an older couple. The man was standing by the display case, snapping photos of the exhibit with his phone. The woman leaned in closer, her gaze intent and focused.
Upon closer inspection, the womanโs features bore an uncanny resemblance to Mirandaโs. They were nearly 60 to 70% identical. Evelyn guessed that these two must be Mirandaโs parents.
Lionel was snapping photos, marveling at the display, โThis bejeweled ceremonial robe is absolutely exquisiteโฆ Look at the design, the craftsmanship, the colorsโฆ Itโs truly breathtaking.โ
Miranda had already taken them for a tour a few days ago, so today was a repeat visit. Yet Lionelโs enthusiasm hadnโt waned in the slightest.
Just then, a tour group mostly made up of elderly people approached. Hearing Lionel speak so knowledgeably, they smiled and asked him to keep talking.
Their eyesight wasnโt the best, so reading the descriptions was hard. Even so, they loved a good explanation. Unfortunately, theyโd lost track of their guide.
โWeโre all ears; please continue!โ
Lionel took it as a chance to do a good deed. Not only did he read aloud the descriptions, but he also added a wealth of extra information that wasnโt written down.
โโฆThis bejeweled robe has quite a bit of history! It was often adorned with ivory, gold, and gemstones, and itโs a style often found in ceremonial robes for highโranking figures.
โThese ceremonial robes, also called โHoly Garments,โ were often placed on sacred statues or deities and would be offered in churches as an act of reverence.โ
โAccording to โThe Chronicles of Ceremonial Attire,โ there were about 17 of these multicolored robes made in Hondon during the reign of King Leward III. Each one was placed in key locations like Westminster Cathedral and the Royal Hall, ensuring their preservation as treasured artifacts.โ
A round of applause echoed around him.
By now, Lionel had unknowingly gathered a sizable crowd of both older enthusiasts and curious young visitors.
โSir, what about this crown next to it? Can you tell us more?โ a young man asked, intrigued.
Lionel took a quick glance, and wouldnโt you know itโthis was right up his alley!
โThis crown here dates back to the early Seraphelian era. It was discovered in the Tower of Hondon and was most likely worn by Queen Seraphina herself during her coronation.
โItโs beautifully decorated with feathers, pearls, and an array of precious gemstones, indicating it was one of the royal familyโs most cherished pieces.โ
As he spoke, some of the younger visitors eagerly flipped through their guidebooks.
โWhoa! It really is Queen Seraphinaโs crown!โ
โYouโre amazing, sir! Are you a history teacher?โ
It wasnโt surprising they guessed this; Lionelโs attire, demeanor, and eloquence all gave off a strong air of a teacher.
Lionel chuckled and waved his hand. โYou guessed half right! I teach physics, not history, hahaโฆโ
โHeโs really a teacher!โ
โNo wonder heโs so knowledgeable!โ
โIf heโs that good at a nonโcore subject, I bet heโs the headteacher! They know a bit of everything.โ
Winter, who was mixed in with the crowd, joined in the fun. She was cheering along with the others. โYouโre awesome, sir! And your wife is just stunning!โ
At that moment, everyoneโs attention shifted to Mindy.
Wow, what a sight! Lionelโs wife was exceptionally beautiful. Together, they were the epitome of the words โelegantโ and โintellectual.โ
Evelyn stood on the edge of the crowd, watching Lionel speak with confidence, hearing all the admiration and praise. Then she turned her gaze toward the impatient, shifty-eyed Lucy and Franklin, who were eager to leave.
At that moment, her emotions grew more complex than ever.
It was true when they said comparison was the thief of joy.
